Spring Gala - Who's Going?

The 4th annual Spring Gala is being held on Sat., Mar. 8th, from 7 p.m. to midnight at the Courtyard by Marriott in Cromwell.  All are invited to party with us...pre-ops, post-ops, non-ops, friends, family, couples, singles...  It's an opportunity to meet or reunite with others from this message board, as well as other patients of surgeons from all over CT.

There'll be a DJ, hot and cold hors d'oevres (which is dinner for post-ops) and a cash bar (which will include non-carbonated, non-caffeinated, sugar-free selections, besides water).

Tickets are $27 each in advance, 2 for $50 in advance (doesn't have to be a couple, can be 2 friends) or $30 each at the door.  Tickets are being sold at the Middlesex, Hamden and New Britain support group meetings or can be gotten by mailing me a check and I'll send you back your tickets.  If you want to mail me a check, e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll reply with my address.

are there rooms  to spend the night if so do you know the price

Hi, Joanne! The hotel had reserved a block of rooms for us at a reduced rate of $99 each, but the reservations had to be made by Feb. 7th.  However, that was a discount of only about 10%, which you could also get, if there's availability, with a AAA discount (if you're a member).  If you go to the Marriott website or call 800-MARRIOT you can check on various discounts and rates.  It's the Courtyard by Marriott in Cromwell (which they may also refer to as "Hartford-Cromwell".  There's a heated indoor pool and also an exercise room, so if you decide to stay over, you may want to come earlier to use the facilities before getting ready for the dance.

Is this for anyone in CT that has had WLS?  Or is it just for patients of certain surgeons?

It's for anyone...pre-op, post-op, and non ops from any surgeon in the state.  This will be my first year going also.  Family and friends are also invited.

Uh- nobody fall over or anything- but I think I'm going!  Looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting the new faces I see on the boards!
