Care to watch the surgery?

This is not for everyone, but if you want to watch an actual surgery (either RNY or Lap-band) you can at www.or-live.com There are several to choose from. I watched Dr. Darren Tishler from Hartford Hospital perform the adjustable lap-band. Also watched the RNY done at another hospital. The doctor narrates what is happening throughout. This was when I was deciding which surgery I wanted to have. I'm having the lap-band, hopefully in early spring as soon as I've completed my pre-op testing. As I say, it's probably not for the squeamish, but I found it really interesting. Shirley

Tina, When you get to the home page, do a search by "specialty" and select "gastroenterology". You should be able to find it from there. I think the one done at Hartford Hospital was done in May of '07 if you're looking by date.

Whoops, sorry. The surgery done at Hartford Hospital was in May of 2006. At the top of the web page click on "previous webcasts" and then you can select "Search by Specialty" and Gastroenterology. Then scroll down until you get to the surgery you want to see. Sorry I wasn't more clear earlier :-)

I watched Dr. Tishler do this operation before he did mine and I highly recommend everyone watch it.   He did my surgery in July of 2007 and I have had the best of everything since.  He is a phenom. surgeon
