GAS
Hi JA,
I had alot of gas the first several weeks too, I don't know if it's the same as your's but when eating those tiny bites, I was probably swallowing alot of air. Anyway, what helped me then was getting up for a few minutes and walking. It helped me to burp, which was a relief. The pain felt like someone pressing on me, and burping eased it tremendously.
I don't get it very often now at all.
If walking doesn't help, maybe you should call your surgeon's office to check. They are there to help you.
Feel better!

Hi JA,
Not a funny topic at all -- its a very painful topic!
I was several weeks out and I would get the worse pain in my right shoulder blade in the early evenings - and you guessed it, it was gas. Walking helps, Gas-X or Mylanta helps (especially if you are also a bit constipated like I was). But what helped the most was my husband would bang on my back - kind of like burping me - but a tad bit harder. I could actually feel the gas moving when he did that, and although he was banging on me, it felt great. Within an hour the gas would dispell - and my husband would run for cover Needless to say, I wasn't burping.
Hope you feel better soon - I remember how uncomfortable this was - it was awful, but it will get better.
God Bless,
Kathy Bilodeau
