Time for a Weekend Roll Call.......

Hello Everyone, Well another weekend approaches and I realized that there is soooo much happening with so many of us that it is difficult to keep up. I miss seeing some regular posters. I know their lives have become very busy and it is hard to take the time to do a lot of posting but maybe you will just check in with us today. To all you newbies.......welcome!!! You have certainly come to the right place. I don't know what I would have done without this site . Time has been flying for me. Between my niece's wedding and our moving, I have been beyond busy. The unpacking has gone well and I feel like this is home now. Of course my mom fell the other evening and now has met the EMT's in Milford. Guess she wanted to introduce herself...... She may have fractured her wrist but they can't really tell from the xrays. I am a member of the Century Club and that is awesome. I had a weird moment the other night that I wanted to share. My youngest niece had stopped over to see the new condo and in the course of conversation we were talking about dieting. She mentioned that my middle niece weighs 130 lbs and wants to lose another 5 lbs. Now this niece has always been the smallest of the ladies in my family. I was a bit taken a back at this news. I had no idea what she weighed. Well you see, 130 pounds is Dr Bell's goal for me!!!!!! . I have no concept at all of what it would be like to be that small. I was overjoyed at the fact that for the first time in my life I am about the same size as my two sisters and was teasing them about the fact that I WILL BE SMALLER than them soon. To be the size of this niece would be beyond words. Of course I will never look like her with all the hanging skin but you get the idea. We are going out to dinner tomorrow night (Captain's Galley in West Haven) for my sister's 50th and I will go to water aerobics in the morning and probably grocery shopping after that. The rest of the weekend I will do somemore unpacking and organizing or maybe just say the hell with it and do something fun! Hope to hear from lots of you and have a great weekend everyone. To those having surgery soon I say......may your slide to the losing side be as uneventful and pain free as possible and to those of you post oppers......keep up the good work and if you need a kick in the pants here it is!!!! Hi Linda, I'm here for the weekend roll call. Not many plans for the weekend other then a scrapbooking party tonight. All my pre-op testing was completed on Wednesday and my last supprt group meeting before surgery was last night! Time is flying by. The one question I get asked all the time now is "are you nervous?". I have to say that no, for some reason I am not nervous at all, I"m sleeping well, I'm cheerful and I just can't wait to get home after Surgery! Have a great weekend! Sandy

Hi Sandy, I was wondering if there were any scrapbookers here. Do you ever go to New England Scrapbook Company? I work there very part time. Maybe we have "met" before and don't even realize it

Hi Eileen ! Yes I have been to NESC and I even took a class there with Erin a few weeks back. I love it there. When you work there do you run a class? If so let me know what class and when and I will be there! I love scrapbooking and am hoping to get a lot done while I'm out of work. Hope to meet you. Sandy

Erin is such a doll, isn't she? I do teach classes there and also work some weekends doing the retail part as well. I don't teach as much as I used to because life just got too busy for me. I usually teach one class a month but don't have any classes this month because I wasn't sure when my surgery was going to be scheduled. Starting September I am going to start a new series of classes called either "Ten things to do with..." or "Eileen's Elements". I am not sure which name they decided on. Basically it's going to be a beginner to moderate level class and instead of doing two 2 page layouts in the class it is going to focus on a specific thing like eyelets or vellum and will show ten different ways to use the one product and will do 10 projects like tags, borders, titles etc. I am not even sure when the class is scheduled for but it would be on the website www.newenglandscrapbook.com. Do you go to any of the crops there? I would love to meet you at one if you do!

Deb McPhee...present and accounted for! This weekend should be a good one for me. Tonight we're going to see The Village, and I can't wait, I've been dying to see this since I first heard about it months ago. Saturday night we're having a Poker Night/BBQ and Sunday we're going on my FIL's boat. Yacht? Whatever, I dont know except it's big and has a potty. I did go see my PCP and come to find out I'm barely absorbing any of the vitamins & minerals I've been taking, hence the blisters in my mouth and the bad hair. I have an appt with Dr Aranow to figure out a game plan, maybe different vitamins, maybe take more of them, at this point I don't know. But I'm getting my haircut super-short Saturday AM so that'll be good...it'll hide the dead stuff and I love change. Sort of scary though, I haven't had short hair in over 20 years!! Have a great weekend everyone! Linda - Hope your Mom is ok...

Happy Weekend: My plans are simple. Lay by the pool if the weather is nice and rest. Sunday my DH has to work a double so it will be just me & my 4 year old. We will find something fun to do. I had my surgery 11 days ago. I go see Dr.B for my 2 week f/u on 8/12. All of my sites look good except 1. One of them is really gross looking. The "all liquids" is going well. I don't really miss food (yet). I have been walking as much as possible. I still get pretty tired. I am off all of my meds except a very small amount of insulin. The surgery is a sucess as far as I am concerned just due to that fact!!! I have been weighing myself and am happy with my progress so far. I hope everyone has a great weekend!!! Chryssie

Good to hear you ladies are doing well. I can't complain this week. I went shopping at Lane Bryant yesterday. I needed shorts for my trip to Disney on Aug. 13th. I got 3 pairs of shorts (cute ones too) and a pair of capri pants, 2 bras and a shirt for under $100. Everything was 40%off clearance. I was happy about that.. but even happier that I bought size 26 shorts.. when before surgery, I couldn't fit into their 28's. I normally hate trying on clothes, but the fact that all this stuff was fitting just made it all look better. My bottom is having a hard time keeping up with my top, of course. I can comfortably wear an 18/20 on top, but 26 on bottom. I'll just have to be patient. I've been measuring my food and figuring out that I was eating the right amount and not too much. I get full easily before I can eat my measured amount, so that's a good thing. I'm thankful I can't tolerate sugar! I know that sounds weird, but I am glad I don't have that demon to contend with. As for the weekend, I've got one dinner party to go to and another to cook for. I love cooking.. oh the irony. Have a lovely weekend everyone!! Michelle

Hi Everyone, I can't believe the weekend is finally here!! Today I am leaving work at 11:30 to go to Hartford to see my sister-in-law be sworn in as a US Citizen! Saturday I have no plans other than the usual food shopping, laundry, and cleaning house, which is really gross since I haven't cleaned it since before vacation. Sunday we have 2 parties to juggle. One in NY for my 91 year old grandfather, and 1 in Watertown for my 2 year old nephew. That should be interesting to see how we manage both of them. Besides that, I will do nothing; WLS-related, I am at 53 pounds gone, and 3 sizes smaller! I am so very happy about that, but mostly about how I am feeling now about myself and life in general. I am just so happy I had this surgery; I am now finally exercising regularly, and that helps alot with my energy level and feeling of well-being. That is one of the reasons I had surgery, to exercise and become healthy and fit. To get involved in life instead of being too tired or whatever and letting it pass by me. I am getting there, and that gives me hope for more good things to come! Have a great weekend everyone!! Anne

Hi all! I'm taking the kiddies to Six Flags tomorrow and then staying overnight at a friend's house so her kids and my kids can play, and her and I can stay up late and chit chat! I'm looking forward to it. Other than that, I'm home taking a mental health day (and boy does my mental health need a break!). So, I'm off to catch up on all my shows I haven'****ched for months. AHHHHHHH. I hear the couch calling my name! Bye everyone!
