What kind of cold medicine??

Hello Everybody, I know it is too early but since I might have surgery this fall and I expect to get colds this Winter coming ( I am sensitive to catch cold easily). Please give me list of cold or sore thaort medicne from the shelf at drug store. I will print it out after you gave me advices Thank you Thank you Thank you !!!!!!! Kathy K

Sudafed....are very small, by mouth pills Robutussin elixir/suspensions line are good also if you are unable to take any tablets or pills.

Hi Kathy, I would suggest checking with Dr Aranow or his staff. If I remember correctly he was pretty strict on what you can take early on...I think it's Tylenol gel caps for Cold...but I dont remember. If you find out could you post it? Also, I as a pre-op I would have a cold every 6-8 weeks, year-round. Since surgery in October I have only had one cold last winter! Best of luck! -Deb

Kathy, Here is a list that I found that is considered "safe" for your pouch. Benedryl Tylenol Dimetap Robitussin Safetussin Sudafed Triaminics (ALL) Tylenol (cold products) Ex-Strength Tylenol Gas-X Phazyme Imodium AD Colace Dulcolax-Suppositories Milk of MagnesiaPeri Colace I do not have a reference as to where this info was taken but if you check with Dr. A you should find this to be accurate. I also have a list of definite No-No's after surgery if your interested. Good Luck. ~Julie~

Hey Julie Please type No No list after surgery so I will print it out to save it. Four more days to go!!! I know you are nervous about it and it is normal to feel that way. I will keep you in my prayers and will stop tp have short visit you at hospital. Hugs Kathy K
