Hi evryone, Just got back today from our week in Cape Cod. The weather was awesome, the beaches were great! It was not very uncomfortable on the beach because of the weight I have lost already, but I will look forward to next summer not being this size and blending in alittle bit more. Food was ok, but tough to eat healthy. We were renting a house and there were 10 of us, 5 adults, 5 children. Lots of fried foods! I ate well in the morning, mostly yogurt, and lunches I had either part of a chicken wrap or a hot dog without the roll. Dinner was out almost every night, and every place up there serves fried "everything". I had hamburgers (half of a patty, no roll), some onion rings, pastrami without the bread, the toppings on a slice of pizza; you get the idea. I also had Ben & Jerry's sugar free ice cream one night, which was pretty tasty. I got in my waters, but also drank more coffee than I have been post-op, since I now like the taste of it again. I exercised by walking on the beach in the mornings, and just being really active all day. I thought I was doing okay and expected to come home and see a weight loss of several pounds. BUT, I gained 2 pounds. I will weigh myself in the morning, since I am usually heavier in the evening, but I really thought I'd be down a few, and now am discouraged. My portion sizes were okay, I guess it was all the fried stuff. I will be back on track now that vacation is over and I have more control over my food choices and will be eating at home again. Just wanted to check in and let everyone know what was going on with me. I spent the last 2 hours reading all of the posts I missed. I am happy to be back, but sad to leave the beauty and serenity of Cape Cod. (as serene as it could be with all those small children anyway!) Anne

Hi Anne, Don't get too discouraged. I'm told that coffee makes us hold onto water, rather than "flush" out our system. Why don't you try a day or two with more water, Crystal Light, and and very little, if any, coffee? I bet those 2 pounds come right off! Still, vacationing is hard, and you're doing great! (I have a trip planned my 3rd week out, paid for long before my date was scheduled, so I will be such a bore with my protein drinks and egg drop soup! Anne

Well thankfully when I got on the scale this morning I was 4 pounds less than last night, so I actually lost 2 pounds. Still not much loss in the last two weeks, but with all the fried stuff, I guess I should be happy with this.

Anne, Just wanted to drop you a note and welcome you back. You have surely been missed. Just get settled back in and things will fall into place for you, of that I am sure. Remember how much you have accomplished already. Chin up! NA
