Hi Everyone!
I'm feeling better these days. I am really trying to prioritize my life and I think it may be working. I've shaved back a few things so the "stuff" I want to do I can do well. Otherwise I really get myself too stressed out.
My latest medical procedure seems to be finally healing so today I am heading to the pool for some R & R.....and a good book. Anyone seen the Notebook movie?? Both the book and the movie are SO great!! I highly recommend both. Bring tissues......
The next speaker we are having at the UConn Support Group meeting is going to talk with us about our emotions post op and eating. You know, we've all lost our best friend in many ways and the head hunger can sometimes be unbearable. So hopefully we'll find ways to help us deal with these issues. Please try to come, anyone is welcome!
OK, about me. I am stable at 150. Sometimes I dip below and I know that's not good so I start trying to eat more. I notice if I don't eat much during the day I can have a decent size dinner. I still have not tried sugar or carbonated drinks after 15 months. I am scared I WON'T have a reaction and then my crazy mind will think I can get away with eating that stuff. It was a great feeling to put my height 5'8" and 150 in the BMI calculator and see I am normal. From morbidly obese to normal it still amazes me each day.
Linda and Kathy-Congratulations on the Century Club. Kathy, I am sure by today you are there. You have both been such inspirations to me with your positive outlooks on life and your determination to make this work. Sometimes I get a little jaded when I go the meetings and there are people there that go on and on about how well they are doing but then later talk about drinking soda and eating chocolate. They are only hurting themselves and it shows that they haven't lost weight. I didn't put myself through this hell just to mess it up and play those old games.
Kathy-you hang in there with that CPAP, it will save your life. That's it. Just do it!!
Kathy-you really did look radiant in those pictures and I bet your man has something sparkly for you real soon!
ok, this has become a book.
love you all! C
Cheryl
Hi Cheryl,
Welcome back to the boards. We did miss you! Sounds like you are doing fantastic! I'd love to come to that meeting at UCONN. When is it and where? I am only 10 DAYS out and am suffering from lots of head hunger already, and am mourning the loss of my good friend, food. So I would love to get some inspiration, especially because I am at the beginning of my long journey.
Sounds like you are on the right track.
JA
Hi Cheryl,
As we all agree it is nice to see you back where you belong . Sounds like things are calming down some and you are feeling better. I have not read nor seen the Notebook yet. I bought the book just haven't gotten to it yet but now that my life has calmed down some I can get back to my reading. I have been packing and unpacking for what seems forever
Could you send me the info on the UCONN Support group meeting please. Depending on when it is maybe I could hop on up there. Never can hit too many support group meetings Do you think you are going to be able to make the Sept. 11th thing? That should be fun. Give me a call if you get a chance.
Linda
Hi Cheryl,
We've missed you, and I'm so glad you are getting back to your old self, feeling better, and prioritizing your life.
Your meeting at UConn sounds great - please send me the information on where it is, and when. If I can make it, I'll be there.
We all love you too!
God Bless,
