Cold Feet
Hi Terri,
I have had so many of the same thoughts..fears. I hope I get to meet you next monday. Hugs. I know it will all be so worthwhile Terri. Good solid support is important and so are people who have experienced what we have not. The people here are wonderful and so giving. My prayers are with you .

Hi Terri,
Your feelings are absolutely normal. I would be concerned about anyone that didn't have all these feelings prior to surgery.
I have my surgery with Dr. Aranow three weeks from today and while I totally place all my faith with him I still a wee bit nervous. But deep down in my heart I know this is the only option left for me. I have tried every diet known to mankind and I am heavier than I have ever been in my entire life. Without this surgery I know that I will develop life threatening illnesses that just run rampant in my family.
I won't be at next weeks supprt ghroup since I have already attended the nutrition/psych preop one before but I will be there the week after that. I hope to see you there!
Terri,
I had my surgery three weeks ago and I got the cold feet prior to the surgery! I think it's normal and I agree that if you didn't feel this way there would be cause for concern.
This is a big operation and it creates big changes in our lives. It is not a risk free operation, but I was satisfied with the competence of my surgeon (Dr. Valin) and his experience and I wasn't wrong.
Be assured that what you are feeling is normal.
Ann
