Being a loser...feels great. I had my one month post op visit a couple days early with Dr. Aranow. I love that man! I and down 25 lbs and I feel wonderful! He moved me on to stage five..and tonight I had a little bit a salad with my chicken...it felt good to crunch into something! I am loving life...He wants me to start some aerobic exercise. I have been walking 1.5 miles a day..but he says its not enough. I hate to sweat. .doesn't he know that? LOL Any ideas at what I can do...to start off easy? Joanie RNY 7/2/04

Congratulations Joanie. Sounds like you're doing great. I love being a loser too.... Did you ask him about swimming? I do a lot of that, and I love it. Maggie

Thanks for all your responses. Tara you are doing great! Any better eating.. or are you still having difficulty? I was so anxious for a salad tht I didn't read my food list, which told me to start with cooked veggies, as raw ones are hard to digest...Surprisingly, I had no problem. Later in the evening however, I tried a bit of cucumber for a snack..THAT did not sit well...not sure how my tummy is feeling this morninging either..oops! Joanie RNY 7/2/04

Hi Joan, I bet you are glad that you are next stage!!!! I think you will find something excerise you like, not forced yourself to excerise you are not crazy about it. Excerise in water is more fun!!! Hugs Kathy K

I really enjoy going to Curves. I'm in and out in 1/2 hour. You might want to try something like that. God Bless, Kathy Bilodeau Lap RNY 12/3/03 -94 lbs.

Congrats on your loss!! That's great news. If you can go to a gym that has swimming, that is the best exercise. I unfortunately go to a gym that has several branches and NO pools -- boo!!!! I've gotten to the point where, though I don't love it, I feel great after I've worked out now. I try to get in 4-5 days a week, even if it's just to do 1/2 hour or 45 minutes of cardio on a quick day. Personally, I love doing the weights/machines -- it's empowering to feel your muscles growing, and with the sagging skin that tends to hit us, gaining muscle tone is a great remedy. Keep up the good work!! Kathy F.

Hi Joanie, You Looser you! Congrats on doing so well! 25 pounds gone forever! I take cardio kickboxing in manchester, but there are places everywhere. I love it! You'll sweat, believe me, but the classes are fun and the time goes by so fast. It's a great cardio workout and we also learn self-defense and do bag-work so there is real punching involved. Don't mess with me! Best of luck and you'll soon get used to sweating. -Deb

I'm a huge fan of aqua aerobics! Do you have any gyms with pools in your area? Or a YWCA?
