Surgery at Bristol Hospital?
Hi everyone. You don't know me but I have been lurking for a few weeks now. You all seem so friendly and supportive. I saw the invite for the dinner get-together and although I would love to go and meet everyone who posts on this board, I don't think I will be quite ready for a social event. I will be having surgery on August 16. Is anyone on this board from Bristol or had or will be having their surgery at Bristol Hospital. Thanks for all the information you give.
Sandy
Welcome to the CT Boards, Sandy!
We understand you will not want to be around food just 2 weeks after your surgery. I am 5 weeks out and I still don't want to be around food!
If you have any questions, there are some very wonderful people here that can walk you through the steps.
I wouldn't know what the heck I am doing if it wasn't for them!
Tara
Hi Tara,
I appreciate your response. I see your posts a lot and always thought how cool you were! Hope to meet you someday and discuss this wonderful journey. I have started my pre-op diet now. I find it comforting to be on a diet now and know that I will be having surgery before I can gain this weight back. You seem to be doing well after surgery. Congratulations!
Sandy
Ah, you must be going to the good Dr. Joe Robles. I wor****asionally at BH and it's in their ICU, where the WLS patients go. I have actually known Joe (though I don't think he'd remember me) since he was just in college working in the lab. He trained at St. Raphaels with one of the best in the region and I know he is very good with his patients.
I'm sure you will do fine, good luck and my prayers are with you...
Hi Jennifer,
Yes I am going to Dr Robles. I have a lot of confidence in him and know many people who have had surgery by him. I also work at Bristol Hospital and know that I will receive great care. (or I call Mr Kennedy!)
ha ha. Thanks for your prayers, If you are working between 08/16/04-08/19/04 come and introduce yourself to me.

Welcome to the board Sandy.
I was just one week out from surgery and I went to a "Harvest Dinner" -- it was an event my church holds between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I thought it was going to be torture but it didn't bother me in the least! I had brought some chicken boullion to sip on, and I didn't even want it. I write all this to say. . . . you just might want to go to the dinner in September - you might be fine sipping water or having some soup or something.
Keep it in mind, we'd love to meet you.
God Bless,

Sandy, I knew your name was familiar. Did you ever work in the lab? I did, then I worked on GS. I left in 1993 when I finished nursing school. Now I work full time at New Britain General in the ICU, but am per diem at BH. My maiden name is Jandreau, that's what most people there know me by......Good luck next month, I know they'll treat you well.......Jen
