Hi guys! I went to Dr. Aranow's seminar, and said that he does his leak test while we are still in surgery and under anesthesia. Does that mean we won't have to drink that nasty stuff that everyone complains about? Help, I'm confused. If that's the case that he does it while we are under, why don't all the other doctors do it too like that?

Tammy From what I heard Dr Aranow s patients , He do not required for leak test from us but he did tested blue dye inside our stomach to see if it is leaking or not before he will close up during surgery. Kathy K

Hi Tammy: I am a patient of Dr. Bell's and he check's for leaks during surgery as well. I did have another one done the next day, which wasn't too bad. Rather safe than sorry!! Best of luck with your surgery!!

My situation is similar to Kelly's. My surgeon does check while in surgery and also the next day AS WELL AS has a drain attached for 2 days just to be absolutely certain. I agree, better to be safe than sorry! Tara

That's exactly what it means. Unless there is some other type of problem, you only have the leak test in surgery. Every surgeon is different. They all learn different ways and perfect their own techniques. So, who knows why.
