Consignment Shops

Just had to share my good find and see if you girls know of other consignment shops in the area. I live in Somers and did a search on consignment shops in the area (losing weight quickly and can't afford to keep buying new clothing) and came across one in South Windsor called Uptown Consignments - I went on Saturday.  I got so many great buys - need to leave my 12 yr old daughter at home next time though - she's a size 0 and find so many cute things.  I can't wait to go back as I keep losing. I am wondering if any of you know of other good consignment type stores.  I went to a Salvation Army too and didn't find anything.  I hear great things about Goodwill but I can't find one in my area.

Hi  I love consignment stores...there is a goodwill in Manchester, across the parking lot of Big Y, and there is another thrift store called Good Cents in Vernon, on route 30...it is set back in a parking lot so you will probably pass it ..look back and see it in the corner of the strip mall. it's near the Tolland town line  Have fun shopping!!

Is it where the Mc D's used to be? It has a subway back there now? Sorry about the food references but my Hubby works down the road (I think) and I know food places in the area and that's about it since I would eat with him once in a while.

Ya know - I thought I had remembered seeing a Goodwill in the Big Y plaza but then when I went to Goodwill's website it was not listed.  I am definitely going there this coming weekend!!!  Thanks.

I like the Goodwill in Manchester/Vernon townline... its in the same plaza as the Big Y.  That's where I go shopping these days...

there is a great goodwill in rocky hill in townline plaza also there is another uptown consignment in rocky hill  on the silas deane hwy there both off exit 24 off 91 uptown is about 2-3 lights up from kohls  hope you find some good finds

Rumor has it the Glastonbury Goodwill gets a load of brand new clothes from Target in every Wednesday. I haven't checked them out yet since I haven't needed it quite yet. Also, do they have dressy clothes? I have a wedding to go to in Oct. and I would rather not spend a lot of money on a dress if I don't have to.

At Uptown Consignment, I did see a lot of nice dressy clothes.  I will check out Goodwill in Manchester - I am going to go there this weekend.

Just make sure you go with enough time to look threw things... the store is small so everything is packed in tight with each other... When I go I can spend 2+ hours looking at clothes...
