Disney Question!
I'd like to know if any of you have been to Disney before and if you've ridden a good majority of the rides. I'm concerned about still being too big to go on the rides. I don't want to put off going.. since it's been put off for almost a year and a half now.. but I will if I need to lose some more weight before I go. I really want to enjoy it and ride as many rides as possible, w/o fear of having the skinny person next to me fall out or my big butt not fitting into a seat. I'd like to bypass all the embarrassment all together.
Thanks in advance!
Michelle
Hi Michelle,
Well I am not sure I can answer your Disney question but I will try. The last time I was there was a few years ago and I don't exactly remember how much I weighed at the time but I would guess about 250lbs. I did go on some rides but did feel uncomfortable in a couple. However when I went to Universal around that same time I went on alot of rides and it wasn't bad. My theory is go and enjoy the hell out of yourself and don't worry about your size at this point. When do you think you will be going? You may have lost alot more than you think by that time. Get out there girlfriend and enjoy life!!!

Hi Michelle,
I'm a regular DISNEY fan, I go about once a year (next trip is in April 2005). I have never had a problem getting comfy on any of the rides, but then again, I am NOT a daredevil who likes to go on the thrill rides where you are strapped in and hooked over, ect. I'm having surgery in a little more than a week, and would love to loose an even 100 lbs. when it's done. I'm short and stout right now, if that helps or gives you any indication. Most of the stuff at Magic Kingdom is "doable", MGM is mostly shows where you sit on bleachers, ect, Animal Kingdom is a combo (a LOT of walking here), and Epcot has attractions, not rides, that are usually tram like cars (or similar to) that most people can fit in. I hope this helped,
Anne
hi michelle
i have gone to disney world every year for the past 9 yrs. i went when i was 303 lbs and rode all the rides (i am 5ft 5in tall only) i carried most of my weight in my top half (butt, hips, stomach and shoulders) i didnt have any problems at all on any of the rides. i did have to go sideways through the very tight turnstiles but other than that nothing was too tight. granted i felt sometimes uncomfortable squished into a seat BUT i fit. i personally felt that disney is "fat friendly" because the seats on all their rides werent super small. i would say go for it and have a great time. i am looking forward to going this october.

Another Disney Fan here! My trip is planned for october 2005. I went 2 years ago for my 50th birthday. my legs made it all around epcot but i'm telling ya i can't wait to go now that i've lost alot of weight. by the time i go i'm hoping to be at my goal. You go and enjoy! Think of the money youll save not buying alot of food! More souveners! good luck and god bless, pam
Thanks! I'm glad I don't have to put this off until next year!!! I'm going the 22nd of August through the 29th, I believe. It should be fun. It's my first time going.
I did hear a long time ago the turnstiles were problems for everyone.. but that much doesn't bother me. As long as I can ride the fun stuff.
Also, you're right about not having to spend money on food. That's too cool.
Thanks!
Michelle
Hi
I didnt have problems with the rides at disney it was all the walking that was hard for me. When the seat belt didnt fit I was often given and extender and this helped. Fitting on the rides and every where else wasnt a problem. I hope you enjoy your trip, I cant wait to go back once i am able to enjoy it more.
Hey, I have a question:
When you go zipping down the steep coasters and your stomach goes up into your throat .. will it be the pouch AND old stomach this time around?
I am just kidding. I've never been to Disney. I would love to go, but .. it just never works out that we can take a real vacation.
Have a GREAT time and take a lot of pictures!!
