Hello Everyone!
I'm Terri's husband, and I want to first thank each and everyone of you for your prayers. And yes, your prayers are making a difference.
As I see all the cards pouring in for her, this had touched me very deeply. My sister in law (Val) had suggested that I check out this website. And Im choaked up as to the love and support you give to each other.
I just returned an hour ago as of this writing. As you are all aware, we had her off the respirator for a couple of days earlier in the week. It didnt work out due to her heavy breathing which just tired her out. When the tube was out she was breathing fast and heavy, but she could not get a full breath. We were hoping she could reinflate herself, but it just didnt happen.
As far as the surgery goes, they gave her another cat scan today to make sure there were no problems. They found everything was nominal. The doctor informed me that their was no abcess or pus to be found. Everything from the surgery seems to be healing up nicely. (I hope he wasnt B.S me)
The problem is the left lung, it is still a partial collaspe and the plan now is to increase the air pressure from the respirator to try to get air to the alveoli sacks that are collasped. This may help get the lung open again.
In the morning, a pulmonary specialist will be in to run some more tests. They are also discussing the possibility of taking a look inside that lung. Im waiting to hear if that is the direction they want to take. I'm finding that sometimes doctors say one thing, but events dictate another.
All her other vitals are good. When she was off the respirator several days ago, she was aware and she acknowledged me. We watched TV together and I read a couple of cards off to her.
They are taking very good care of her. She will remain in ICU until the left lung has recovered. The doctors are confident that it will heal. It just takes time. I'm trying my best to have patience, just as the whole family is. But I miss talking with my soulmate, I love her so much!!
God bless you all and thank you!!
Sincerely,
Pete

Hi Pete and Val,
Thank you both soooo much for your updates on Terri. We have been keeping her in our prayers and just know that she will come out of this in great shape. I know how draining this is your entire family. Please keep the faith and know that she has alot of angels pulling for her!!

Thanks so much for the update! It was very encouraging to hear that they've got a pretty good handle on what they need to do & they're working hard on fixing the lung situation. Sometimes people just take longer than anticipated based on their own special issues.
Many prayers and blessings sent your way.
