Damn it- Terri has had a setback.
This post is from Terri's sister. I copied it off the main board for those of you who don't get there...

Ok guys, please don't expect a response......
They put Terri back on the respirator a bit ago.... when they pulled the respirator yesterday, both her lungs were partially collapsed.. she maintained for a few hours, and then decided that her heart wasn't strong enough to be on her own.... will post more updates as I get them...
Love ya's,
Val

I read on the main board (any anyone add or correct this) but she never gave up smoking prior to surgery, but told her doc she did. I guess because of that her lungs were compromised and by the time they figured out why so much damage has already been done.
I hope nobody took my comment as negative, because it certainly wasn't intended that way. Terri, bless is her soul, is an excellent example how we need to be straight up with our doctors. We all want/wanted this surgery so bad that so many are willing to put themselves is dire jeopardy to have it.
That's rough. Alas, cigarette smoking is highly addictive, so compassion is again called for. One of my closest friends smokes like a chimney, all the while battling anorexia on & off since her teens, a heart murmer, and she takes birth control pills ... at age 40. I worry about her something awful.
Sometimes we just can't pull away from those things we perceive we can't live without. I just hope Terri comes through all of this & starts a healthy new life.
