You sound upbeat and like you are doing well.  I'm very happy for you!  The next few weeks will be a challenge but it is so incredibly rewarding - you will do wonderfully!  I had the same IV problem you did - I always do and it really sucks.  I'm just amazed at how good you feel.  I must say, I am jealous .  I am almost 5 weeks post op and normally I am one tough cookie when it comes to pain so I expected this surgery to be a breeze....well, it wasn't and I was in so much pain, I actually was on the phone with my nurse crying  - I NEVER cry...so it was bad.  But anyway, glad you are home and doing well.  Keep walking and sipping - the two most important things right now!!!

Kathy, congratulations on getting the surgery behind you!  Just focus on doing what you were told to do by the doctor and you will do GREAT!  Best of luck and I can't wait to hear updates on your progress.  Laurie

Hi Kathy,  I am so glad you have had your surgery. I have been watching your post and you were so excited to get it done. Well You DID IT!!! I know what you mean about being a pincushion. When I had my surgery it took 6 people to TRY to get an IV in me. BUT I wouldn't let them give up. I was determined to get it done with. I just held out both arms and said go for it.  Glad you are doing well. And they are right. You will be surprised how the weight falls off. It is amazing. Just do what your doctor wants you to and you will be fine. Just remember, everyone is different. What is right for someone else, might not be right for you. It is an all new learning process for you right now.  Good Luck,  Hugs, Sarah

LOL not me, I begged them to let me go. I promised them I would come back another day with nice big veins. They told me no way since they knew it was the nerves talking.
