New to posting....

Hi, everyone! I have been visiting the board for the last month and a half or so, but have yet to post. My name is Jana, I am a stay at home mom to 2 3/4 yo b/g twins named Whitney and Harley, and we live in Stamford. I first started to consider WLS seriously in May when my PCP spoke to me about it being a viable option for me. I have been overweight nearly my entire life--from about age 7-8 on (and I'm 35 now). I now weigh over 300 pounds (exactly double my husband's size), and am sick and tired of failing at losing weight and keeping it off. I have just finished jumping through all of the hoops, aka preliminary testing and visits. I am now waiting for all of my info. to be sent out to my insurance co. for approval. I have my surgery date set, 9-2-04, assuming that approval comes through. My husband is traveling out of the country as of the 10th of September, but my mom is going to help me with the kids and my initial recovery. I am getting so anxious to get my new life started!! I love reading everyone's stories and looking at the before and after pics! Wish me luck with approval!! Hugs, Jana

Hi Jana Welcome to our CT board! This is a great place to learn lots and lots of stuff. Feel free to ask any questions. I am a pre-op (having surgery on 7/21/04), so I can't give you any post op info. yet, but I can tell you that going to the support group and talking on the boards here really helps. Welcome aboard! Congrats on having all your testing done, phew! Doesn't that feel like a huge weight off your shoulders?? Before you know it your date will be here and the new chapter to your life will have begun. Visit us often, we're a great bunch of people, and without the help of everyone here I don't think I would have made it! (P.S. When I was pregnant I wanted b/g twins, but it wasn't in the cards, I have a 2-year old son who is the light of my life) -Deb

Hi Jana , It's nice to meet you. I'm glad that you started posting on the board. This CT group is a wonderful group of people. You'll be so happy that you had this surgery. I can't even put into words what my life is like since surgery and I'm only 9 weeks post op. Please keep us posted on your progress. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get a quick approval.
