I am an emotional WRECK!
Linda:
My dietitian told me at this point I can eat what the rest of the family is eating, but just to be sure that it is mashed up enough, which is why I didn't think I was doing harm with the meatloaf. But everyone is different and maybe my poor wittle pouch is just too sensative at this point, like most peoples.
I am definitely interested in recipe suggestions. I think for now, however, I am going to take everyone's advice and stick to the softest foods possible. The tuna w/light mayo is something that seems to work well, so I have to be careful to not eat anything harder than that.
Linda, thanks so much. I do appreciate your comments.

TARA!!!!
HEY THERE GIRL!! YOU WILL BE FINE. THIS TO SHALL PASS. YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED SO MUCH SO FAR WITH THIS WONDERFUL WLS TOOL YOU HAVE. I'M SURE IT ROYALLY BLOWS TO HAVE TO BE IN THIS PUREED FOOD STAGE FOR A WHILE. I TOTALLY AGREE THAT THE THOUGHT OF PUREEING MEAT GIVES THE HEEBIE JEEBIES....AND I HAVE HAD EGG BEATERS BEFORE AND AGREE THEY ARE NOT THAT GOOD. BUT ANNE HAS POSTED SOME AWESOME IDEAS YOU CAN TRY TO HELP GIVE MORE VARIETY. I KNOW I HAVEN'T HAD MY WLS YET BUT I WILL IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS, AND I AM SURE I WILL BE POSTING HERE WITH THE SAME COMPLAINTS ABOUT FOOD! AND BY THEN YOU WILL BE TELLING ME THE SAME THING...THAT IT GETS BETTER!!! AGAIN...DON'T WORRY IT WILL GET BETTER. TAKE CARE.........MARY
Hi Mary honey. Okay, if you say this shall pass, than I am gonna just try to lay low. Umm yea, pureed foods blow, so I just can't do it. I'd rather eat tuna 4 times a day then toss meat in a blender and then in my mouth. Eeeep!
Someone posted about being a royal witch, gotta find that post ... because I totally ticked off my entire family today. I am EVIL with no food! My God! Then I threw up and now I just feel frail!
Well, thanks Mary. Your name sounds so important, I actually sit up straighter when I read your posts. LOL
Love and Hugs,
Tara
Tara:
I am still pre-op so I can not offer you any advise. Just hang in there. It will get better. I am with you on the whole blenderizing of foods thing. I do not think I could just whip up some meat and eat it. I will be drinking my protein shakes I have a feeling. I don't know who else posted about being on a broom but I know I did about a week ago. I think my nerves are shot. It has been such a long road to finally getting a date. Now I wait to hear from my insurance company. AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGG it is never ending. Anyway...my family is sticking by me even though I don't always deserve it.
Take care,
Chryssie
I haven't even gotten any protein shakes yet. I've been doing a lot of shopping online and looking around for protein shakes and drinks and other vitamin drinks.
on the broom - that's funny!
You do deserve the support Chryssie. There is nothing like the waiting game, and you have only a little over a week left, right? So I am praying for you sunshine!
Thanks for the post, I appreciate it!

Hey kiddo! I haven't been online this weekend so didn't get a chance to reply. Believe me (and everyone else), it is SO normal to feel as you do right now. You got some great advice on soft proteins too. I have to admit I ate a LOT of soup in the beginning, rather than pureeing. It was just easier & soothing.
I think about 2 weeks out or so, I was soooooooo depressed about not being able to eat food. When certain commercials came on the TV, I had to turn my head because I thought I would just burst into tears.
But rest assured, you will be able to eat real food again. You'll get to a point like the one I'm at now where you feel like you can eat too many real foods ... and too much of them!!
It is a phase that feels like it'll last forever, but happily doesn't. In the scheme of life it's just a small period of time and you'll be back to eating real food in no time.
Take good care of you!!

I am happy to hear these feelings are normal. I don'****ch much TV, so that does help, but seeing people eat drives me nuts. Also makes it easy to cheat, which is how I get sick! UGH!
Yesterday was a good day. I ate some kidney beans from a chili and they went down well and stayed down. It was so tasty too.
I can imagine this being just a phase, I've been a royal PITA too to my husband, I am not sure he knows how to deal with me. He is doing good though at trying!
Thanks for the HUGS!
Tara
Tara,
It IS normal!! You're right on target, unfortunately. When I was still on the liquid stage I would watch TV and cry...seeing all those food commercials drove me insane!
Try immitation crab meat, that got me throught some pretty tough times. I liked it dry, (no mayo) and it's alittle sweet.
Believe me, before you know it you'll turn that corner and feel better, emotionally. Hang in there!

Oh gosh, you and Kathy both with the TV. But someone else I know that had the surgery a month before me said the same thing. She was having serious psychological problems because being home, she would watch TV and see the commercials.
Immitation crab meat, huh? Okay. I will give that a shot. I LOVE CRAB MEAT! How about sushi, sashimi with no rice, just the raw fish? That's fine, yes?
Thanks Deb!!!
Tara
I have been out of the loop this weekend, I hope you are feeling better. That post is exactly what I fear, not ver being able to feel like you will eat again. Other than the amazing support I see you received from this board, how did you get through it??
Thinking about ya and hope all is well.
