Hi Phyllis
I do not have surgery date but I have to complete all tests Dr Aranow wants to see. After I complete all tests, they will give me surgery date if I lost 20 pounds . That is why I am nervous about that but know I did work hard to keep junk foods and no carb since I met Dr Aranow. I will excerise like crazy over this weekend and during week before I weight in in Drv Aranow's office. Scale weight is my fear

Hi Kathy,
Sorry I haven't been posting much lately but have just run out of time!! Glad that all your appointments are moving right along. Its good that you are having your sleep study sooner than later. Once you are using the cpap (if that is what they reccommend) then it will be a tad bit easier to lose the weight you want to before and after surgery. Untreated sleep apnea slows down our metabolism and hinders weight loss!!! I know that info made be put my mask back on every night. Some one else asked if you have to use the cpap for the rest of your life or if it goes away after surgery. The answer to that is............it is individual. Some people can stop using their machines a few weeks after surgery and other still need it but may need to have the pressure adjusted. I am still using mine 8 months and 95 pounds later. I did try not using it one night this week and I could definitely feel the difference in my sleep. I have had a lot of sleep issues but I am at the point now where I have stopped stressing over them. Just do what your doctors say and you will be fine. Keep up the great work .
