I AM 1 1/2 WEEKS POST OP - I AM AFRAID TO CHECK THE SCALE - OF COURSE ONE WEEK AFTER SURGERY I DID CHECK AND WAS 10 LBS MORE - I KNOW DUE TO THE SWELLING, ETC. BUT I AM THINKING MAYBE I SHOULD WAIT AS LONG AS POSSIBLE SO THAT I WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED - I GO TO THE GYM EVERY DAY AND THE SCALE IS RIGHT THERE - IT IS SO TEMPTING BUT I KEEP TELLING MYSELF IT IS NOT IMPORTANT - I KNOW EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT BUT, WHEN DO YOU START TO SEE THE SCALE CHANGE?

I started to see the scale change right away. I went to my doctor 6 days post op because of the pains in my left lung, and had lost 10 pounds since surgery. When do you go for a check-up with your surgeon?

My advice is- WAIT! and stay off the scale. I'd shoot to only weigh at your Dr's appointments, if at all possible. Good luck to you. Lisa C

THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSES - I DID STEP ON THE SCALE TODAY AT THE GYM AND WAS DISAPPOINTED TO SEE I WAS THE SAME AS PREOP - SO I THINK I AM GOING TO STAY OFF THE SCALE FOR A WHILE - THANK YOU BOTH FOR YOUR INPUT!!
