HI AGAIN EVERYONE!!!!!!!
HI EVERYONE!!!!
SORRY I HAVEN'T POSTED BACK TO ALL MY WELL WISHERS RIGHT AWAY. BUT FIRST I WANT TO TELL YOU JULIE HOW HAPPY I AM THAT EVERYTHING WAS FINE WITH YOUR ANGIO. YOU WERE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS!!! YOU ARE NOW ON YOUR WAY TO A HEALTHIER YOU AND WLS !!!!!!
AND FOR TARA, I AM SORRY I DIDN'T GET BACK SOONER ABOUT YOUR QUESTION ON PROXIMAL VS DISTAL! I GUESS IN SIMPLE TERMS THE PROXIMAL MEANS LESS INTESTINE IS BYPASSED ONLY ABOUT 100CM. WHICH MEANS ALSO LESS MALABSORPTION, BUT I ALSO HEAR LESS WEIGHT LOSS THAN THE DISTAL. THEN THERE IS MEDIAL AND THAT I HEAR IS A LITTLE BETTER WEIGHT LOSS THAN THE PROXIMAL BUT NOT AS MUCH AS THE DISTAL, AND ALSO A LITTLE MORE MALABSORPTION THAN THE PROXIMAL AND LESS THAN THE DISTAL AND ABOUT 150CM OF INTESTINE IS BYPASSED. AS FOR THE DISTAL I GUESS OVER 150CM OF INTESTINE IS BYPASSED AND THERE IS SIGNIFICANTLY MORE MALABSORPTION THAN THE PROXIMAL AND MEDIAL THUS RESULTING IN MORE RAPID WEIGHT LOSS BUT ALSO MEANS MORE VITAMIN DEFICIENCIES. I SPOKE TO MY SURGEON DR. BARBA AND HE SAID THAT IS ALL HEAR SAY AND I WILL BE FINE WITH THE 100CM BYPASSED AND THERE IS NO ACTUAL PROOF THAT MORE BYPASSED IS MORE EFFICIENT. AND THAT IT WOULD JUST CAUSE MORE DEFICIENCY IN PROTEIN AND VITAMINS WHICH CAN LEAD TO BONE PROBLEMS. SO THEREFORE I HAVE DECIDED TO JUST NOT STRESS ON WHAT WILL BE DONE TO ME. I KNOW IT WILL BE OPEN RNY AND AS MUCH AS HE BYPASSES IS UP TO HIM....LOL!!!! BUT I HOPE I HAVE ANSWERED THE QUESTION CORRECTLY. IF YOU WANNA DO MORE RESEARCH THAN GO TO WWW.GOOGLE.COM AND TYPE IN PROXIMAL RNY VERSE DISTAL RNY AND IT WILL COME UP WITH MORE DEFINED ANSWERS !!!!!!
I ALSO WILL BE KEEPING TERRI IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS AND I AM HOPING ALL WILL BE WELL AND FOR A SPEEDY RECOVERY!!!!! AND ALSO JULIE S. I HOPE ALL IS WELL WITH YOUR SISTER AND YOUR FRIEND!!!
WELL AS FOR ME I HAVE BEEN FEELING REALLY WEAK LATELY, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE ANGIO. I AM STILL HURTING ALOT FROM IT, AND IN WENT TO SEE MY DOC FOR A GROIN CHECK YESTERDAY TO SEE IF THE SITE WAS OKAY BY HIS ORDERS! WELL COME TO FIND OUT I AM STILL BLEEDING AND HE IS SOMEWHAT WORRIED. I HAVE TO BE MONITORED AGAIN IN LIKE 4 WEEKS UNLESS IT GETS WORSE. IT'S ALL BLEEDING UNDER THE SKIN. SO NOW I AM ON BED REST AND CAN'T DRIVE AND HE DOESN'T WANT ME SITTING THAT MUCH BECAUSE IT'S BAD FOR THE BLEEDING OR SOMETHING....I AM NOT REALLY SURE. HOPEFULLY ON AUGUST 6TH, 2004 I WILL BE OKAY AND GET CLEARANCE TO DRIVE AGAIN. AT LEAST ON THE FLIP SIDE I HAVE NO BLOCKAGES IN MY HEART AND I HAVE CLEARANCE!!!! WLS HERE I COME...LOL!!!!! WELL I AM REALLY WIPED, I GUESS IT DOESN'T HELP THAT I AM ANEMIC?! SO I WILL TALK TO YOU ALL LATER. GONNA GO LAY DOWN...DON'T WANT ANY BLOOD CLOTS! TILL THEN TAKE CARE AND AGAIN THANKS FOR BEING SUCH A WONDERFUL BUNCH!!!!!!
MARY
WOW MARY! I am impressed! Yer good!
Thank you so much, that was a very good explaination. I am not sure what version was performed on me, but I can ask my secksi doctor on my next visit which is Wednesday.
Funny when the doctors say "bed rest" BUT they want you to move around to avoid blood clots. Be careful Mary and try to get around as much as your body will allow. But if you are feeling week, take a nice nappy and watch some trash tv! That always helps me.
You've been a wonderful help. I wish you the best, and please post with some updates on yourself.
Hugs n Blessings,
Tara
Hi Mary,
Hopefully you are following your doctor's orders and taking it easy. You don't want this bleeding to cause you any more problems that will hold up your surgery. I am so glad that the procedure when well and hope that this little roadblock will clear up very very soon. You need to be careful with the anemia and the bleeding. Enjoy your self and pamper pamper pamper.

Hi Mary Frances - Sorry to hear you are still bleeding under the skin, best wishes for a speedy recovery. Please take care of yourself. I work in Hamden, not too far from Hartford. Since you can't drive, if you get stuck and need anything please email me. I know how hard it is to be unable to drive.
Hi Mary,
I'm sorry to hear about your bleeding issue. I've been keeping a very close eye on mine and it looks good. I too feel discomfort after sitting when I go to get up. It's like a pulling feeling. That should go away in a few days. My Dr. didn't ask me to come back for a follow up. I am praying for you. I'm sure it will clear up soon just do as your Doc says and whatever you do, don't lift anything over 10 lbs. Bye for now.
