Hello All, I just got back from Middlesex Hospital a little while ago. I checked in at 7 A.M and had a little bit of a wait. I changed into a gown, had my I.V. done and they gave me valium and benedryl and by 8:30ish and was off. I don't remember too much which is good. They finished around 10 and I was in and out then slept till about 1:30. All arteries are crystal clear of blockages. I am very excited. The worst part was they couldn't stitch the artery shut so they had to apply a lot of pressure. My cardiologist did it for a while then a male nurse came in and he leaned on the are to help with the clotting process. I then could not move for 6 hours and it was torture. By the 4th hour I couldn't take and was crying on and off till it was over around 4. All I have to say is Thank Goodness its over. While I was there my sister was brought to there E.R., something wrong with her hip, they are not sure what but she couldn't walk at one point so she had no choice but to go. My best friend from MD drove up last night to be with me but she ended up getting sick and was vomiting. Most likely due to lack of sleep and nerves. The nurses told me My cardiologist called my PCP and Dr. Aranow personally to let them know how it went and they will have official Cardio clearance in writing probably by Tuesday. So now I'm going to go rest. When I get up from sitting it hurts a bit so going to put my feet up on the couch and Veg. Thank you for all your support and well wishes. WLS here I come. ~Julie~

Congragulations Julie on a successful cath experience. I'm really glad that you're OK and can now move ahead with the WLS. Try and relax as much as you can this weekend-then Tuesday you'll be all ready to call the doc! Anne

Hi Julie, I am soooooo glad to hear your tests went well and all is clear. I just know that things will move fast from here on out. You have done a great job losing the weight you were supposed to, going through all these extra tests etc. Surgery will be here before you know it!! Please rest this weekend and let the sunshine on you. Take care..... Linda

Julie, I can honestly say, I don't think I have ever seen anyone go through what you've been through so far in order to have this surgery. Wanting it so badly and preparing so well will get you through. Plus all the anquish you've been through personally and all I see in your posts is strength. So please keep that disposition of yours and it will help in the future, trust me. I hope like Linda that you will be able to soak up some rays and relax this weekend! XXOO Cheryl

Hi Julie, I'm so glad to hear that everything is ok with your heart! Although it was a somewhat difficult process, I'm sure that it is all worth it to know things are ok. I'll be praying for everything else to be smooth sailing from here on out -- and for a speedy surgery date. God Bless, Kathy Bilodeau
