Dr. Bell's group meeting

I was wondering if anyone is going to Dr. Bell's group meeting on the 8th of July as I have a 9:00 app. I have been very quiet in the wings reading all the posts, I have found them all very helpful. I hope to meet some great people on the 8th as we take the next step.

The support group meeting is July 6th at 6 PM. Are you talking about the meeting at Dr.Bell's office for the next wave of patients to be operated on? Chryssie

Hi Brian, I know you are talking about the educational session on the 8th, not the support group meeting on the 6th. I do know someone who is going on the 8th with you but she doesn't post on here. I would highly reccommend your coming to the support group meeting on Tuesday night if you can. Its very helpful to meet both other pre-ops and alot of post-ops who can give you the scoop! We meet as Heather and Chryssie have said......from 6:00-7:30 pm in the Max Taffel Room at Yale (York St. Entrance). The meeting is Tues. July 6th, then there is one on Aug. 3rd, Sept. 7th etc. Hope to see you there. Please introduce yourself, I would love to meet you in person. Linda

IF YOU ARE STILL IN THE EXPLORATORY STAGE, MAY I RECOMMEND GOING TO ONE OF DR. CRUM'S PREOP GROUP MEETINGS. HE IS IN NORWALK, ONLY DOES LAP BUT, HAS DONE I THINK IT IS OVER 450 WLS. I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY DR. BELL HAS DONE OR ANYTHING ABOUT HIM, BUT MY UNDERSTANDING IS 450 IS A LOT. JUST A SUGGESTION.

Thanks for the info. The 8th is for the 15 person group meeting with Dr Bell. I would love to attend the group support meetings but with my rotating shifts I always end up working the day or night shift on the support group dates. Hope this will change soon. Again thanks to you that replied. Brian

Brian: I went to the 15 person group meeting last month. It was pretty informative. Dr.B went over the procedure in detail. What to expect in the hospital. He had handout covering what we can eat and when. My meeting was from 9am to 12:45. I got weighed in and my bloodpressure & pulse taken. I got a call about a week & a half later with my surgery date. I must admit, whne I got the call from Linda I was so excited I forgot to write anything down...to be honest I was thinking it was July 8th @ 10am but now that you have said 9am I am sure thats what time it is. I should call Dr. Bells office today and get all the information again. I am so excited! WooHoo! I will get to see you soon! Are you getting scared??
