The Anti-WLS movement.

Like most people who have WLS it is really our last hope to overcome the disease of Obesity. WLS has changed my life in such a positive way, losing a large amount of weight becoming a more healthly individual. Today there are organizations which I actually never heard of until recently that are fighting hard to prevent often life saving WLS surgery. NAAFA and BigFatBlog bill themselves as "Fat Acceptance" organizations, organizations that need obese people to stay afloat. They have recently been promoting the idea that obesity and ties to pre-mature death/disease is a myth. All of us know who have had WLS have had major life improvement, ending the use of medication, CPAP etc. These organizations support and promote legislation to PREVENT weight loss surgery. There has been suggestion that many of these "negative" WLS stories around the internet are actually fabricated by members of these organizations. NAAFA's national policy is to fight WLS and encourage political leaders to restrict the surgeons ability to perform WLS. Fight these agenda driven, heartless, organizations by writing your local, state, and federal congressman to support WLS. Write to the leaders of your insurance company and show them how WLS has improved the quality of your life and ultimately saving them money!!! I have received "hate mail" because I have promoted my WLS success, so this is my way of saying, "SCREW YOU NAAFA!!"
