Roll Call
Hey Everyone!
It's good to have a minute to catch up on all of the posts. It's been a rough weekend for me. Almost 1 month out and feeling a little blue. Nothing has been appealing to me lately. (Not that I have much on the menu to choose from, but.) I think I hit the "When will it ever be normal-wall." I know I need to suck it up and keep moving, so that's what I'm trying to do, but I feel pooped all the time. When will my energy level increase?
Sorry this roll call post is such a downer, but I'd love some advice.
I hope this note finds all of the CT board doing well. Thanks for the support!

Hey Everyone.....
Cancer here yep my bday is coming up !!! woohoo....Been reading lots of books (thank u Chyssie !!) and reading the posts and everything else i can get my hands on about the surgery. Went to Branford's Fireworks yesterday. DH and i spent all day at Branford Point cooking out and just talking..it was sooo nice, then in the evening the daughter found us (where else could she get free food??) and we enjoyed the best fireworks i have seen in a long time with her and her best girl friend..today..fishing with the DH.. (Chryssie we NEED to introduce them im getting tired of fishing ever weekend LOL)..he of course kicked my butt....but its okay..i got to read more of the WLS books..
Am looking forward to next weekend when my two brothers should be down from Maine and it will be the first time my DH and i were actually here in CT for the 4th in a few years....so my mom is happy...she will have all her kiddies there...she said she wanted pics.....i usually stay away from the cameras, but i think i'll let her take them..as i told her..next year at this time, i will not look like this, so she will need to take new ones next year..!!!
Hope everyone had a great weekend and will have a good week and good fourth....

Hi All
Hope you all had a great weekend!!! I was pretty excited cause Friday I got my first paycheck, boy was that nice. So Saturday I also hit the Filene's one day sale, I must have missed you Linda, I still have to shop in the womens dept but I'm getting there. Boy what great buys they had.
Still trying to get my work wardrobe straightened out, what a nightmare, I think I change at least three times every morning till I find something that fits right.
I'm at a stage right now where I feel bigger that I did 135# ago. I know that's crazy, but I guess its all the loose skin. This too will pass but right now it stinks.
My new job is okay, trying to get used to the early mornings and early bedtimes which is a real stretch since I'm a night owl Learning lots of new things and the people are very nice.
Last weekend I went to a graduation party and most of the people there hadn't seen me in a while, well talk about positive re-enforcement, I just loved all the compliments.
Today I spent planting flowers outside, so I got down and dirty
it was such a beautiful day.
Well everyone have a super week and Linda I hope everything went well today!!!
Hugs, Mary Lou
Hello everybody! Sorry I haven't gotten here sooner. I have been working morning, noon and night! Two part time jobs and the 5 kids are out of school and already driving me crazy. Plus no body wants to help out, or pick up any slack. Especially the husband . But on a great note! I finally broke thru my plateau and have hit the 80 pounds lost mark! 70 since the surgery! That has made an unbearable week more tolerable! Glad everyone is doing good! Keep in touch Cathy
Hi everyone,
Just getting on the computer now. It has been a very busy weekend! But a great one. Friday night my husband and I drove to Watertown to look at an SUV, and we ended up buying it, we will pick it up Tuesday, after they put in the sunroof! I am so excited.
Saturday my niece stayed over and the girls were swimming for hours. I still can't swim due to that one darn leaking incision, but soon.
Today I was gonna just hang around the house, catch up on cleaning and laundry, food shopping, etc. But we ended up inviting my in-laws over for a swim with all their kids. It was alot of fun, but alot of work, cooking, hosting, you know. I am tired!! But I feel great. The weather was beautiful, and I am just so grateful for my life. I am down 36# now, which is awesome!
Hope your house sells quickly Linda! Congrats on the 95# also! Great job!
Have a good week everybody!
Anne
Hi there!
I'm kind of new to the site (well, been a lurker for a while now...). Glad to be part of it!! Tonight I'm going to my first support group meeting at Middlesex Hospital. I'm really looking forward to meeting people tonight! I have my seminar with Dr. Aranow on 7/14 and start the ball rolling!
Oh, and if you need help with the sale of your house, I'm a real estate paralegal. I'd be glad to answer any questions you have! Been doing this for many, many years!
Hi everyone,
I love Roll Call!! it's so nice to see how everyone's doing. Things are pretty much the same in McPhee-land. I just broke through a plateau that lasted about 4 weeks and the funny part was it happened during vacation! I thought I was overeating...but maybe thats what I needed to change things? I dont know, not going to question it. I'm now down 134 pounds and it still blows my mind. Is this really happening? Is this really me?? The extra skin is an issue but really, I'll take that over the blubber any day.
I have 2 finals coming up and then I'll be on summer vacation. Hopefully I'll graduate next year with my BS in Psychology. Nooo, I don't analyze and of you...honest! I have written a few papers on my inlaws, though.
I want to wish each and every one of you a happy and safe 4th of July! Enjoy the BBQ's and fireworks!

Hello everyone!
Did I mention that I too am a Virgo? It's true. The birthday is getting closer ... I remember when I used to look forward to that date!!
My weekend was pretty chaotic but good. Friday was my last day at my now former job. I started today (!) at Weston Bakeries (ironic, I know). I'm nervous but think it's going to be a very interesting position.
I went shopping earlier in the week at TJ Maxx & picked up some clothes: a skirt (above the knee!!), a pair of jeans, and 2 tops -- all in size 12!!! When I had the surgery I was fitting into 22s -- it's a nice change. I wish I had saved an old pair of pants to use for comparison, but I was so happy to give everything away. I had drinks with some girlfriends on Thursday whom I hadn't seen in awhile; I wore the skirt, and they were all blown away and were very complimentary. Can't beat that!
The most excitement we had over the weekend was Saturday night. John was cooking dinner (he likes to cook ... gotta love that!) and needed a couple of ingredients, so I said I'd go out and get them. As I get to the lobby of his building (he lives in Bridgeport as well), a group of teenage girls ran to the door & were banging like crazy. I opened up the door & the girls were shouting "somebody's shooting over there, can we come in?" So I let all these girls, one a woman with a little boy in a stroller, into the lobby of the building to get away from whatever was happening outside. They were all in various stages of trauma/fear. So we called the police, got the girls water, tissues, etc. and tried to convince them to stay for the police to talk to them, but they wouldn't. We sent the police in the direction they went. It turns out that someone shot the attendant/owner of the gas station across the street from John's building. If ever he needed confirmation that it was a good time to move (we got a place in Fairfield effective 8/01), that was it. We haven't been able to find the report on the news, so we don't know what the result was. Okay, I'm rambling, but it was quite an adventure.
Sunday was really nice. Went to a bbq at the home of a co-worker of John's. She told John if I wasn't with him, she would not have recognized who I was from the Christmas party I attended this past year. Last night we watched the fireworks from the Barnum Festival. They were absolutely fabulous! Really nice night to be out on the beach, enjoying the joys of summer.
Linda -- hope the house sale happens quickly (and lucratively); Kathy -- I hope your son's doing better today! Cheryl -- I love Patti Scialfa ... and her husband, Bruce. Everyone else, have a good week!
