Thank you all for the wonderful welcome to the site! I really appreciate it. It was great to hear from others that have had Dr Giles. I was at the Support Group meeting at UConn in June and really enjoyed it. I will definately be back in July! Now the poopy news. My insurance company talked with Dr Giles pre-cert lady yesterday. They are saying that they have 2 different pre-certs that I will need to do. One for the surgery itself and then one for the stay at the hospital. What that boils down to is about a 3 month approval process from when they got the paperwork. I am so bummed. Now I guess that I'll probably have to wait to schedule surgery for the winter break at school. In the end that will probably be the best since I'll have more time to heal than if I did it in Aug. I was just so hoping. But in the end, it wont mess up my fall semester and I'll still be on schedule to graduate in spring 2006. I know everything happens for a reason. Still right now it kinda hurts. So thats where I am.Hurry up and wait. At least I'll get to come to some more time to go to the meetings and learn more. And try to keep loosing some weight and get better about my exercise, which is a sticking point for me. Thank you again for the warm welcome ! Brightest Blessings Hugs Heather in Avon

Heather -- The good news is that you've already made alternate plans -- that's a wonderful attitude to have! And being cooped up in the house to recover during the winter isn't such a bad thing ... it's nicer outside in August! Keep up the good work ... your time will be here soon! Kathy F.

Hi Heather, Well all things happen for a reason and you are probably right that it is better to have some more time to heal before pushing yourself with a very hectic schedule. Time will pass quickly especially if you have a date or tentative date to look to. The not knowing is the worst part. We will be keeping you in our thoughts and hoping that dang insurance company does its work fast and correctly!! Remember we are always here and you can learn alot form the folks who hang out here!! Linda
