Just thought I'd do my "roll call" before Linda calls for one My son Nicholas (5 yrs) had his adnoids removed yesterday and had tubes put in. Needless to say, its been a bit hectic, and I've been exhausted. He was an excellent patient, and did great - I'm really proud of him. Saturday I'm having a get-together for my husband's family for Father's Day. I'm having all kinds of chicken sausages (jalapeno) , (mozzerella & sundried tomato), etc., and I'm making Janet's jello/cottage cheese ambrosia she brought to our get-together! Everyone brings something with them, so there will be more food than this - but I'll probably get full on this. I've really been struggeling with staying on target with food - eating things I shouldn't, and the scales are NOT moving. Trying hard to motivate myself to get on track, but sometimes its a real struggle. Any suggestions? I start each day out really good, but then I end up eating something I shouldn't. Hope everyone has a great weekend and a great Father's Day. Hugs & Prayers. Kathy Bilodeau Lap RNY 12/3/03 -90 lbs.

Hey there! I love this roll call idea! I just added a post that described my visit with my dr. yesterday in NY and referral to the plastic surgeon who does his work -- Sarah Jessica Parker's brother-in-law -- we had a great talk about Sex & the City, Matthew Broderick, etc. It's a daunting idea, having this surgery. I'm leaving my current job at the end of next week & starting at (gulp) Arnold's Bakery in Greenwich as the Executive Assistant to the VP of Operations and the Plant Manager. There are 900 employees down there and I'll be dealing with a lot of them in that position! I'm just hoping the smell of bread will be enough to satisfy me! My b-friend John and I are looking at places to move into together -- we have 2 appointments today. He needs to get me a sparkler soon!! I'm back on track after spending a few weeks really not caring about what I ate & not exercising much -- stress!!!! I'd like to get down another 10 lbs. before my family reunion in August. Back to the gym for me!! Hope everyone's well. Have a great weekend!! Kathy F.

Hi Friends Things are going well in my little corner of the world. I'm leaving today to go to NY to visit with the inlaws. Should be a great weekend. This will be the first time that they have seen me since the surgery. I go for my 6 week checkup on Monday, so I'll be sure to post my results from that. Kathy-Sounds like you just might need to get back to basics. Hard to do I'm sure. We're here to offer all the support we can. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Maggie

Hi Kathy, everyone, I am so glad it's Friday!! I need lots of , but I won't be getting it this weekend. My 5 y/o daughter has her self-defense class on Saturday morning, my niece is then coming for the day and overnight, and Sunday we have Father's Day and my brother-in-law is getting married. Besides that I have laundry, cleaning and food shopping to do. At only 3-1/2 weeks out I am not moving as fast as usual and probably will not get to everything I want to do. I feel good though. My scale says I am down 30 pounds as of this morning. I started pureed yesterday and it is nice to actually feel like I am eating instead of just drinking. I had an ounce of pureed chicken salad and a sliver of mozarella cheese for luch - mmmmmm heaven. Hope you are all well! I am so happy I had this surgery!! Bye, Anne

Hi Kathy - Hi Everyone! Wow, it's been almost a week since I even turned ON my computer!! Guess I've just been too busy with everything else and I've missed our boards! I'm doing well, although a little blue this week. Not sure why, but I did lose a dear old friend to liver cancer last week and he was only 51 and that always make me stop and think about my own life. Work is hectic and I am so looking forward to my week off around July 4th. Also busy planning a business trip to Arizona in August (yea, Arizona - IN AUGUST - let's think 120 degrees! - and hot is hot, humid or not!). I am seeing Dr Reinhold next week for my 3 month check-up. According to my scale I'm down 63 lbs, and if it stays this humid, I'll lose another couple of pounds just in sweat! Have a great weekend everyone!!! Oh and Kathy, where are the recipes from the get-together?? I thought they were getting posted? Ciao for now!! Hugs, Carla

Hi everyone, I am doing fine, it's been a long week. I went to my gym last night and it's been a month since I joined and I got weighed and measured and according to their records and scale I have lost 4.4 pounds and over three inches and am gaining muscle. I am thrilled as my clothes are fitting better and I am in an 18/20 now. I can't ever remember being in that size before, probably when I was a teenager. I really enjoyed the WLS Get together last weekend and look forward to doing it again. I second the "where are the recopies?" question Who has copies of pictures? I would love if you could send them to my e-mail address; [email protected]. I will post mine when I finish and develop my roll. Kathy, sorry to hear about your little one, sounds like he is a real trooper. Glad everyone is doing well, enjoy the weekend... Darlene 309/236/???

Hi Kathy, I hope that Nicholas is feeling much better. He needs some TLC and a few ice pops I am sure . Sounds like you are keeping extremely busy. It should be a fun weekend. Hmmm........I think we should be the WLS Twins...... The past few days have been a real struggle for me also. I feel like I could eat constantly and I have having had a full feeling in a while. My down fall is eating in the evenings. I was doing really well with that and now have had a back slide the past few days. I know for me stress has been a big factor. I am going to try some relaxation exercises......yeah right after I do the tag sale tomorrow for which I am not ready!!! Oh and then I am supposed to make some hors d'ouvers for a get together tomorrow late afternoon and of course come back and continue packing and cleaning this house so we can begin to show it.........not much happening in my life. . Hope you have a great weekend and remember that tomorrow is another day to get back on track. You are one strong lady and I know you will figure it out. Admitting there is a problem is the first step isn't it??? Linda

Hey Everyone! I love the roll calls too. Nice chance for everyone's updates. Week 3 was hectic for me. I'm back to work and with that and the heat and humidity, it kicked my butt! I'm hoping to get some rest this weekend, but like everyone else family obligations and fathers day will keep me hopping. Wish all the DH's Happy Fathers Day from me! Hope this note finds you all happy and healthy! Dee

Hello everyone. I am glad to hear I am not the only one with a crazy busy life. Last time I posted I told you that I had 6 more pounds to go before I could even have my surgery. Well I not only lost the 6, I lost 5 more. I am down 11 more lbs for a total loss of 47 lbs. I went to the cardiologist last week and had an EKG and a Echocardiogram done and everything looks great. Final test is on tuesday morning. I have a date with a treadmill. Good ole Stress Test. I was told Dr. Aranow will have my file on his desk by the end of the week for review and if everything looks good Hopefully they will submit me for Insurance approval and I will have a date. I am crossing my Finger And Toes. My new puppy is doing well. He is on his 9th day in a row with no in- house messes. Thank God. The only thing is he is very afraid of my brothers and growls and goes psycho when they come over so I am at a loss. I think obedience school is in little Gizmo's future. It seems everyone is falling off the wagon. While dieting my whole life I have learned one thing. Don't beat yourself up over your mistake and dwell on it. Admit you made it, promise yourself you will not do it again and jump right back in. You are All Always in my thoughts and prayers. ((((((((((Hugs))))))))) to you. ~Julie~ Pre-Op
