i'm 11 weeks out. feel great. last time weighed in was 3 weeks ago with 50 pounds gone. no arthritis meds in 3 months and the knees are like kids! no pain going up and down stairs with no problems AND breathing just fine. since i don't own a scale i don't know if i've lost anything in the past 3 weeks. and i'm afraid that I won't lose anymore. if i did lose its slowed down. is this normal to slow after only 11 weeks? i'm feeling full, eating healthy - 2 oz protein 3times a day with 2 serverings of fruit inbetween milk 2X a day. water almost to were they want it. vitamins, B12, and calcium chewys daily, no problem ever with vomiting. i've gone from wearing size 26 to 18 and i LOVE it. i notice the size changes because of not owning a scale and thats how i judge if i've lost. the actual pounds lost i check when i'm in my doctors office area. so am i worrying needlessly? i follow what the doctor says. i'm active but haven't been walking more than 3 X a week. I think today is a stop at the doc office to weigh in!

Pam, there are always slow downs! Don't let that bother you, if it does, add another day of walking. I slowed down a couple of months out and had to keep reminding myself, that I couldn't keep having 5 to 8 pounds every week coming off, I am just under 7 months out and am still loosing, although much more slowly now. I am still happy with the 1/2 a pound every other week, it's still coming off! I've lost 77 pounds since my heaviest and 67 since the surgery and am down to a size 10. I feel great, but am still having a hard time with the fat person in the mirror. The head takes time to catch up! Good luck and keep up the good work! Cathy

You sound like you're doing just fine. There will be times when the loss slows. You shouldn't worry too much about it. The one thing I will mention to you...which I'm sure you already know...Dr. Aranow wants you EXERCISING. Not just walking occasionally. You need to add something cardiovascular into your routine. Having a regular exercise program will keep the weight coming off smoothly and increase your overall health too. Keep up the good work with the eating...you're doing better with it than I did at your stage. Best, Lisa C

Pam -- I'll echo the other ladies and tell you you're doing just fine! Your food and vitamins are excellent, you are exercising and you've lost a nice amount of weight. I wish the arthritis in my knee was getting better with weight loss -- I'm jealous!!! Upping the exercise will help, not just in terms of losing lbs. but losing inches and tightening up -- we get more than a little flabby with rapid weight loss ... believe me! I'm 7 months out and 80 lbs. down. I've gone for weeks with no weight loss & then lost 5 lbs. in a week. You not likely to continue to lose giant amounts of weight each week after the first few months -- you'd have no strength at all! Have faith in the process, do what your dr./nutritionist tell you to, and you'll be fabulous!!! Good luck Kathy F.
