I am 2 Weeks Post Op RNY going to see the Doc on Wed. Any suggestion on any foods that work out for other people?

I guess my first question would be... have you seen a nutritionist who is affiliated with your doctor? If not, that might be a good place to start to get a food plan as you go through the stages of reintroducing food again. Or get a list from your surgeon. Snacks... to be honest, these are not even a part of your daily intake at this point. And when they are? Prudence is advised. Snacking can lead to grazing... very easily. For me, at 2 weeks postop, I was still doing full liquids to soft foods... no snacking because I was only able to eat a tablespoon at a time. Hydration is prime right now as are protein shakes. I took chicken breast on the bone and still with the  skin on and baked it. I then took the skin off and put the chicken in a blender (or food processor) and added a bit of butternut squash soup (Trader Joe's is yummy)  to make it like baby food consistency. I also ate ricotta cheese and when allowed, egg beaters to scramble eggs. yogurt (low sugar kind-Dannon Light n Fit) was also helpful. Good luck. Towanda

Hello and Happy New  You! Dr. Bell will provide you with a detailed list -- which is very simple to follow!  I am now 5 months out and still have never felt hunger!  My life saver was sugar free pops!  I also drank a lot of the crystal light sugar free drinks...tropical punch added to a water bottle is great! I am sure you will do fine!  Have fun! Jennifer

Wow, you're doing terrific!  Take it slow on the food ...weaning back on can be hit or miss.   Start with a few bites of each thing and wait a bit to see how they go over before proceeding.   My first real meal that went over well was some nice tender pot roast with a little gravy on it...YUM.   You definately want to avoid "dry" meats like chicken and pork for a while or add a little gravy for moisture so it goes down easier.   Good Luck!!!!!
