Any one out there have one of these and not a tummy tuck?   If you did, did you have a huge pannus to lose and if you did, who was your surgeon and how much of an improvement did you see after your surgery?   I am contemplating this procedure so I can start going back to the gym.  I have a HUGE pannus.

I think mine was officially a panniculectomy (Dr. Chech).  I think my pannus was a Grade 1 or 2.  Let me look it up... (Sebastian,Capella, & Rubin, 2006). Grade 1: Apron covers pubic hairline Grade 2: covers genitals in line with upper thigh crease Grade 3:covers upper thigh Grade 4: covers mid thigh Grade 5: covers knees or beyond Had my surgery for removal of pannus (and addressed 3 hernias) on July 31st with Dr. Chech, who operates at Hartford Hospital and has several meeting sites in the cetral area of CT.  I currently have no pannus and a shiny new belly button.  He also put mesh in to "tamp down" the hernias.  I have yet to see if this will set of the metal detectors at airports. :) Dave Source:  Sebastian, J., Capella, J., Rubin, J.P.
