Been lurking

Hi, I have been lurking for a few days here. I think I may have found a great support group. I plan on attending a group meeting in New London soon. I have a friend who had WLS, but she does not seem to want to do much talking and another friend who is pre-op, but seems to want only to do all the talking and me do the listening. My dr will be Dr. Bell, I have not met him yet, but I have all the Pre-op stuff done. I have my letter in from pcp, saw the nutritionist, and had my psych eval done yesterday. I am just waiting for the psych eval to be sent to dr. Bell. The psych doc is going away next week, so I have a bit of a wait. From what I understand, the office contacts me so I can attend an information seminar and then an app. with Dr. Bell (finally!). The waiting is soooo difficult, I am going to jump out of my skin waiting to hear from his office! Anyway, thanks for listening. I am glad you are all here.

Hi Pam Nice to meet you. Ironically, I had my group session with Dr. Bell yesterday. He is an awesome man! Believe me, you have made a good choice. To give you an idea of time..I had my psych eval and nutrition eval done in Feb., submitted everything in March. The diet page listing all the diets I've been on was returned..it needed to be more detailed. I completed it and returned it. I heard from Dr. Bell's office in late April and they gave me a June 10th appt. Now, I am just waiting for a surgery date. When we had our group meeting, they told us surgery would be between 7/21 and 8/9. So it's not that far away! Try coming to the Yale support group as well. It's a great group of people who are just full of all this great information! Good luck on your journey! JA

Hi Pam, Welcome to our world!! Just a hint, you need to follow up on these reports to make sure they get submitted to Dr. Bell's office. They can be notoriously slow and the wait is the pitts!!! Hi Pam, Sounds like we are in the same boat! I had my nutritionist appt, had the psych eval , and sent all paperwork in to Dr Bell too. I am planning on going to the New London meeting also. This will be my first time. I lived in Groton for 5 years, and now am in Pawcatuck. Navy by any chance?? Robin R
