Optifast
I started Optifast today and have to continue this for the full 2 weeks up to surgery (June 24). I am so hungry, I am ready to eat the couch!!!!
I don't want to cheat on this thing, and I really want to follow all the directions from my Dietician but it is real hard!
Has anyone done this prior to surgery? If so, do you have any suggestions on ways to make this a bit easier for me? My head is pounding and I've always wanted to use this emoticon but it never had a place in my posts.
Okay, if you have any sound advice, fess up! I'd appreciate it.
Thanks a bazillion!
Tara
Tara,
I had to go liquid one week prior to surgery, and I agree, it was rough. All I can say is push the water, too. It helps to help keep you feeling full. Can you do Crystal Light and bouilion? That was a little help too with giving me some variety. Hang in there it's all worth it. I just had my 1 week post op appointment today and I'm feeling really good. I'm down 12lbs since the surgery and 20 overall, so I'm heading in the right direction.
Remember why you've chosen this option and try to stay focused on that. Read, walk, listen to music do anything you can to stop from thinking of it. Hang in there. It's just a few days considering the lifetime of benefits you'll be receiving.
Take care,
Dee
Dee:
Phenomenal words, thank you so much! I love Crystal Light, so I will push that. I drank quite a bit of water today and I am not a water drinker. So it was a success and I am still standing (although barely)!
I am working quite a bit, just accepted job #5 (I am in an industry that allows me to work in different places) so I don't have TOO MUCH time to think about how hungry I am.
I can eat 3 oz of meat and all the salad I want for dinner, but I hadn't shopped yet. Guess where my husband is right now? Yep, getting salad stuff and meat at the grocery store. GOD BLESS HIM. He's been UNBELIEVABLY supportive!!
Dee, thanks again. I appreciate it. Congratulations on your success!! You sound like you are doing great! Very proud of you!
