Anthem BC/BS insurance through the ST of CT
Hi! Does anyone have Anthem? How long did it take you to get approved for the surgery? The dr's office has submitted my info for approval. My only issue might be that I don't have any complications due to my weight documented (diabetes, hbp, gerd, etc), so I'm worried that my high BMI alone might not qualify me.
Hi- i too didnt have any issues other then high BMI and some family hx of hbp... and i was approved in a week and a half! we have the best insurance out there dont worry everything will be fine!

I have Anthem Century Preferred because I am a teacher and I had no problems at all. They took a few weeks, which felt like the longest couple of weeks of my life, but everything was covered aside from the overnight stay that my surgeon required and all that entailed was a 200 dollar copay. I am sure you'll get approved as long as you have a BMI of 40. Do you have any family history, because that is taken into consideration as well. Good luck and keep us posted!
Same answer. I didn't even know it had been submitted yet and it was approved.
