Hello all. I just wanted to share in my excitement. I am doing a major happy dance. I lost a whopping 36.2 lbs. since May 5th. I am so excited, I have 8 more pounds to go. After I weighed in at the surgeons office I had gained some weight with those dreaded fluid issues and 2 deaths in the family I thenhad more than 20 lbs to lose. It was more like 40 something(YIKES), so I've been on a very strict South Beach diet.........I spoke to Dr. A's office today and they said once I complete my cardiologist check up on the 14th and they get clearance which hopefully will be by the end of the month, my file should be reviewed and HOPEFULLY I will be good to go. I am just praying the Insurance approval is not a major headache. I know I said only 8 pounds but I'm sure this is going to be the hardest 8 pounds I ever had to lose. This is just the incentive I needed to keep doing what I'm doing. Finally things are looking up. Wishing you all well. Keeping you in my prayers. ~Julie~ Pre-op 361.8 Oh and P.S. I got a new puppy last weekend and he is the most adorable pooch. His name is Gismo (a Shih-tzu who does look a little bit like Gismo from The Gremlins movie) and he definitely helps to lighten spirits around him. I'll get a pic soon. Bye for now.

Debbie- You look amazing! Keep up the good work! Julie- I am glad to hear things are finally going well for you. You deserve it. The 10# I had to lose before surgery seemed to be the hardest too. Keep up all your hard work and you'll succeed! Good luck! Christine

Hi Julie, I wish you lots of luck with the last 8 pounds. You can do it, it is so worth it!! I looked at your insurance on your profile, and mine is also Healthnet. They approved me in 2 days. Unless your policy has an exclusion, you should have no problem!! Good Luck. Anne

WTG Julie!! That is an awesome weight loss! I am doing south beach as well and have lost about 15 lbs since the 19th and am very happy with the results. I am hoping to lose about 50 lbs before my surgery. When did you have your first consult with Dr. A? Was it May 5th? I am just trying to gauge what my time line might be.
