I just came back from seeing Debby at Dr. Valin's to have my first weigh in and staples removed. I can move on to stage 4.. eggs.. yay!! Anything's better than water and broth. It feels so funny to be cooking this one egg. Well, 13 days out and I'm down 19 lbs. (not including 6 from the hospital) My next goal is 12 more by 6/16 when my next follow up and support meeting is. With the protein I'll be able to eat now, that should be an ok goal. If that happens, that would mean I'd be down 31 lbs in a month! Pretty sweet! My staples are gone.. thank goodness! It really doesn't feel like I've had anything done, since they're not pulling. AND for those of you that haven't had your staples out just yet.. it DOESN'T hurt! I know people get anxious about that, but it's not bad and over with before you know it. Hope to see all of you on the 12th!! Can't wait. Michelle

Hi Michelle, You're doing such a great job! Your spirits are much higher than mine were at that stage. Let me tlel you, moving onto pureed foods made all the difference, thats when I felt human again! I'm not only a taste eater, but a texture eater too, and not being able to chew was driving me to drink...protein shakes. Ugh. Keep up the great work, you are such an inspiration! -Deb

Michelle, You're doing great! Puree is heaven. The first egg I cooked I stared at it like there is no way one little egg is going to fill me up. Well to my surprise it did. Keep up the good work, and keep us posted. I go for my 4 week check up today. I'll post my results when I get back. Maggie

Hi Michelle, It sounds like you are doing great!! I too can't wait to start pureed foods. I am really tired of shakes, broth, water and crystal light. ( I did try some cream of chicken soup, I strained out the chicken. Yummy!) I will be advanced to pureed on 6/16 when I have my 3 week post-op appt. Enjoy! Glad your recovery is going smoothly. Anne
