How long with Dr. Bell?

I was just hoping to get some feedback on some of you that have had Dr. Bell to see "how long" the process takes. I have my phych evaluation on June 30th and my Nutritionist appointment on July 9th. I am waiting on insurance which should be effective August 1st. im just afraid of being done with everything too early and them turning me down because i dont have the insurance yet. sorry to bug... deanna

Deanna, Don't worry about your insurance. There is little to no chance that you will be needing it before August 1st. The process is that once you have your completed packet and the reports from the psych and nutrition evals in to Dr. Bell's office your file (has to be complete) is then given to Lynda his nurse and she reviews it. That can take weeks. Then you are scheduled for the group information session. I know they have already scheduled the group for July and are probably working on August. Since you haven't had your appointments yet you are looking at a group session in maybe September or October. You can figure your surgery will be about 2 months from your group session. Soooooo take some deep breathes and be prepared to wait but it sounds like in your case the wait will work to your benefit. Good Luck!! Can't wait to meet you in person. Linda

It actually makes me feel better (for now LOL)..i am sure to think of something else..i must have too much time on my hands i guess....i think im just anxious to get this done (as im sure everyone else was)...i will meet you on the 8th of June at Dr. Bell's support group meeting. deanna

Deanna: I had my paperwork in to Dr.B's office mid January. Was called early March to be given a group meeting appointment for June 10th. So the process does take some time. I do suggest going to the monthly meetings as much as possible. It has really kept me going. It is great to see the people who have gone before me and to see what awaits me. Best of luck to you. Hi Deanna I had my psych eval and nutrition eval done in Feb. and submitted paperwork. Then I had to redo diet history. Once I returned it, I got a call for June 10th like Chryssie. So I think you should be okay insurance-wise. Good Luck and stay with us here on the boards. There is just so much that you can learn here!
