Good Morning!
Just a note to say good morning & happy June!!
The last time I posted anything of note I was in total crisis. My landlord had played a little game on me giving me a notice to quit possession -- with 5 days' notice -- because he was mad that the rent was late. I called my former boss of 7 years (a lawyer) and he gave me the info I needed, so I called back & left him the message that I'd be happy to leave but he had to be realistic and if he chose not to, I'd make an appearance & take it to court & he'd be stuck for months (!). He came back that he didn't really want me to leave but he was angry, so if I pay my rent on time he'll leave me alone & I'll leave him alone. I agreed to it, but John and I are going to start looking for a place over the summer, so I'll be leaving soon enough anyway. The job still sucks -- I hope the economy picks up soon!! -- but I'm at least still employed. Thank you to so many of you who wrote back to me to offer encouragement. You really are all a blessing to me.
So I had babysitting duties this weekend. My best friend lives in Virginia with her husband & 2 kids -- 9 and 3. The 3-year-old is named "the pet tornado" -- and it's a fitting description! Sooo, they had a wedding in Long Island this weekend, so drove the kids up here to stay with me for a couple of days. Man, I have so much appreciation for the occupation of parent!! They're both really good boys; Ryan, the 9-year-old, is a little man now, and DJ is so cute it's hard to describe. John and I took them to a Bridgeport Bluefish game Sunday which was fun, but DJ was a little too young I think to appreciate it fully. We tore after that kid all day! But I have to say everything was worth it when we sat in my recliner, Ryan next to me & DJ jumping on top, and just snuggled. Nothing feels better than the love of children, and vice versa. Hopefully I'll get the chance ...
Thanks again for your support last week. Hopefully things will continue to get better & I won't fall into a pit of despair ... again!!
Have a great week!

Hi Kathy,
I am so glad that things are getting better for you! I know that feeling when everything hits all at one time!
I, like you, do not have any children, but have been blessed with great friends/relatives who have been willing to share their "little ones" with me, and it is the best!
Good luck and hope to see you on the 12th!
JA
Hello Kathy,
I am glad things worked out and you can stay there for a while until you find other place to live. I agreed with you that it is not worth to live there. I hope you will find better job this year and better place to live in nice place. We are all here to listen your venting anytime. That is what CT Message board for SMILE!
Hope to see you at the party !
Take care,
Kathy
Hi Kathy,
So glad to hear that your crisis has subsided. Landlords can be a real pain. You seem to have handled it very well and took the right steps.
So glad you got to spend the weekend with the kids, must have been a lot of fun.
Try and stay positive, I know I have a hard time with that, but things will get better.
Have a great week and hope to meet you on the 12th.
Best wishes, Mary Lou
