I was just sitting here, having some pureed soup and thought I'd give an update. I'm feeling much better today, day 11. The only thing that's bothering me now is these staples!! I'd like them out soon, only 5 more days. I've been trying my best to get my protein shake down, but I gotta hold my nose to do it. I'm up to 2 bottles of water a day.. that's 1 1/2 more than I could do in the beginning. Anyhow.. this soup I'm eating is tomato and roasted red peppers.. really good. It has a different kick to it and it agrees with me. It's from Trader Joe's, comes in one of those pour from the box containers that you can put back in the fridge, it's organic, low fat and only natural sugars. It's a wonderful change from clear broth. (Thanks Maggie for cluing me in and letting me know I can have such a thing!!) I don't know how people say they aren't hungry at this point.. maybe when you actually start "real" foods, but on liquids, I do get to a point where my stomach says "It's dinner time!". I'm having some mental issues with food right now.. of course I want to eat EVERYTHING, just b/c I can't. It's something I'll have to get over, b/c I AM NOT going to sabotage myself and have this work against me. Well, I hope everyone had a good Memorial Day and all is well. Take care, Michelle

Michelle, I'm glad you're enjoying your creamed soups. Just make sure they're strained. Try filling in with jello. It satisfies your hunger and counts as water intake. Maggie

Hi Michelle, It's nice to hear how you are doing. I am 9 days post op now, and looking forward to pureed soups like crazy!! My surgeon makes us wait til 3 week check up to progress to pureed. Never thought that would be something I would be wishing for. I have just started cooking again for my family, and while things smell good, sort of, I am not craving any food. But I am getting tired of water, protein shakes, and chicken broth. (I can have s/f jello, but the idea of it makes me want to As far as the protein drinks, I bought some samples and am trying them, but I really like the Atkins Advantage Shakes. Maybe you could try those also. Take care, Anne
