I got the best news anyone could hope for today. Insurance approved my surgery for July 29! I never thought I would get an answer this quick and do not get positive feedback from the Doctor's office on them(taking up to a month to approve). By low and behold, they approved it in two days! I am going to donate my own blood in case it's needed for the surgery so those two draws are on June 29 and July 17. Then after that, it's the pre-op appt. on July 21 and surgery on July 29. This just made my day! Leslie

Congrats Leslie!! That is just super. Isn't it nice to know all your ducks are in a row?? Did your doctor suggest donating blood? Mine said the blood loss is so minimal that it wasn't necessary. Just curious. Keep us updated. Linda

Hi Linda! It's funny you ask about the blood. I too thought it would not be necessary for this type of surgery (Lap). I had surgery about six years ago to remove uterine fibroids and had my blood on stand by then. It never had to be used. I have two appointments so I guess that equates to two quarts! I just hope if they don't use it - it can go to someone else. I have been a blood donor for many years and I'm always in demand being 0+. When I had my surgeon appt., the nurse brought something up that triggered me to ask if I could donate my own blood instead of counting on the hospital supply. Maybe she asked me about blood transfusions, just can't recall. Anyway, I'll certainly keep you all posted! Leslie
