Exercise
Kathy:
Thanks for the info. I go to Curves now too I love it. I really want to maximize my weight loss the first 6 months. I will probably go to Curves more often (now 3 x's a week) and walk more. I just wasn't sure if Curves was enough of a work out. Sometimes I wish I joined a gym instead because they offer more options and classes.
Thanks,
Chryssie
Hi Chryssie,
Well I know I have talked about my exercising before but here goes. I thought about Curves pre-op and immediately post op but their hours of operation did not work for me at all, but I went to check it out anyway and was not impressed. That wasn't for me. I started using the Walk Away the Pounds tapes until the new gym near me openned. Now I go to the gym 5-6 days a week. I do different things there. I love the water and do alot of water aerobics. Its better on my knees than alot of other forms of exercise and I really get a good workout. I also use the treadmill and the machines. I try to work on different parts of my body on different days. Its not good to do the same things day in and day out. Now that the weather is nicer I also try to get outside and do some more walking. I feel really good after exercising and almost feel guilty on the days that I don't go. I want to try out a yoga class and a few of us have started a sign up sheet requesting they do one on the weekends. Latin Impact Aerobics is also fun........ can you tell I am addicted??? I am going to the gym tomorrow with my cousin here in Rochester and will probably hit their pool too if it every stops raining!!
Linda
Hi Chryssie,
I agreed with Linda up there. Since I am working mom, Curves hours are not right for me to go there because of their closing early in evenings. Just now I walk big around from my house to neighbors houses. I will look into water excerise in my local area which fits only evening hours.

Hi Chryssie,
I just joined a cardio kickboxing class (hi-YAH!), and I go 4 x a week, then I do Gentle Do 2x a week. Thats like Tai Chi. I have no sense of balance and this seems to be helping a lot, plus it's a nice, mellow workout and actually therapeutic.
Kickboxing is awesome though. Where else can you workout barefoot, grunt and scream and hit things? Talk about a stress reliever!
