Saw the plastic surgeon today
Well, saw the plastic guy this morning. I have to admit it was a bit discouraging. He gave me 3 options. The first is of course the most risky. I could end up having a 3 month open wound so forget that one. This is all because I had a C-Section, an Appendectomy, and a hysterectomy. Once you've have surgery it cuts the blood supply to that area so they don't like cutting anywhere near there. The 2nd option is to cut low again but to only "pull down" where my apron would be. That doesn't help my top huge roll that I really want gone. So the 3rd option is for he and Dr. Giles to use the same incision, pull up and I will have a much easier recovery. Plus no open wounds. The downside is that it will leave a little bit of a belly down low. Which is fine with me, I wasn't planning on entering any beauty contests and he told me that I am really not that bad at all compared to others he has done. He said my skin tone is amazing. He said if he didn't see it in my chart he would not have known I had Gastric Bypass. Whoa, get that huh? So, now it's the waiting game again. He has to dictate my chart today, it has to get down to pre-cert right away and out to my insurance company. If they deny it or hold on to it I am not going to be able to get this done by June 8th. So cross your fingers AND toes!! But I did like his personality, he answered ALL my questions and Rob's and went over everything.
So that's the latest! I want to say thank you to everyone from this board that has written to me being so incredibly supportive and kind. You all seem to know just how I feel and truly do help me to feel better and brighter about things. I feel so fortunate to be a part of this board!
Love

Cheryl,
I am glad that you are happy with the plastic surgeon's personality. The fact that he gave you all the options, good or bad is great. IMHO it helps you to be well informed.
Fingers and Toes are crossed and I will even braid my hair to help get everything done in time for June 8th. Just know that everyone is pulling for you. You have given plenty and in turn will receive much more.

Hi Cheryl,
So very glad that you posted today. Sounds like you picked the right ps.
Its very important that you have all the options available to you so that you can make an informed choice.
As far as entering beauty contests always remember that you are beautiful on the inside and that's what counts. None of us will ever be perfect, how boring would that be
Well I know things will work out for the best and know that I will include you in my prayers.
Remember we're always here to lend a supportive hand and foot and ear etc.
My best wishes go out to you,
Mary Lou
Good Morning Cheryl,
Sounds like your doctor is very honest and gave you pro and con for this surgery. You will feel alot of better once you GET RID OF HERNIA and not more wiggle stomach which will be more easier to wear clothes and more comfortable. You are still INSPIRE me and I am thinking of you on June 8th. We will miss you at Gathering party but you will be there for next Party with new body and more glowest from your face
try to find an angel to keep us post about your surgery and we all are praying for you for speedy recover.
Kathy
Sounds like you're working with some good people. Whoda thunk we'd be going under the knife again to prettify ourselves!! You just try to be as calm as you can. Then fill me in on EVERYHING!! My stomach is starting to be more sore ... is it that or is it because I've had a "migrain/combination" headache since last Friday & I'm about to screa bloody urder?!?!?
In any case, you're taking the steps necessary to improve your health and, eventually, well being. God bless you on yet another journey. The good news is they don't have a lot of flesh to work with so it shouldn't be too bad. When I had my exam with Dr. Roslin earlier this month, he mentioned when looking at my back that I had absolutely no hanging back skin, and my stomach wasn't too bad (I disagree of course) -- he said the only place that was bad was my legs -- talking to the converted there! His words: "unfortunately, we're not going to be ahble to sell that to the insurance company. That may be something I have to work on saving up for. Eek!!
You're my hero -- I have ultimate faith that you'll come through & prosper.
XOXO
