CT Revisions
As some of you know I have been researching revision surgery. I know I have a small fistula at the staple line, and I have a VERY large stoma (30 cms). I have been offered several options, and many of you have provided input - and I appreciate that.
I am now wondering WHO on the CT board has had a revision - what type of revision was done - who the surgeon was - and how happy are they with the results.
If anyone would like to share that info with me, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance,
Kathy Bilodeau
Hello Kathy,
My mouth was just agape as I too am l looking for information about a revision. The reason that my mouth was agape because i see that we had THE SAME SURGEON. Almost immediately after my surgery I complained of never feeling full. Finally the surgeon's office scheduled me for an upper G.I. because I thought that my "pouch" had stretched or something. My surgery was in June 2006 in September 2006 when I had my upper G.I. it was determined that my small bowel (stoma) was the same size as my "pouch". As a result, all foods went through rapidly that were not extremely solid ( a pork chop grilled to death! for example)..... As a result, my total weight loss as of 6 months from my surgery amount to 80 pounds. I have not only not lost a pound since but have gained back about 5. I am afraid that the next surgeon will make the same error. No one is infallable and I myself am resistent to exercise and water drinking (the same things that I was resistent to before the surgery). In any essence, whatever information you may obtain, please forward to me at my e-mail address of [email protected]. I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I have heard great things about Tischler as well, in fact, I have a call into his office. I need to find out what types of revisions he does. In fact, my PCP (who just retired, unfortunately), also referred me to him if I needed anything else done in the future.
Hopefully, I'll hear from some revision post-ops. Kathy
