I am really happy about the weight loss, but I must admit this is way harder than what I expected. I scrambled a egg and could not fini**** I guess I am going thru the depression part where I am thinking about all the food I cannot eat. I want to eat so bad, but I am getting use to it. I am doing well. I think I get my staples out on Thursday and I think that is gonna hurt. I hope not. I am hanging in there and I am happy about the weight loss I have started my protein drinks I have been really tired. Other than that I am fine. Mary Post-Op 5/4/04

Congratulations Mary on the 41 pounds. That's awsome I just had my staples out yesterday. It doesn't hurt at all. I didn't even know she had taken one out after she did the first one. I had surgery on May 10 and am down 17 pounds. Glad to hear you are doing well. Maggie

Hi Mary, It sounds like you are doing much better than me, you are doing EXCELLENT! You should be so proud of yourself! I am so jealous of your weightloss! I had my surgery on April 22nd (4 weeks ago) and I barley lost 30 pounds so far. Would love to know your menu, what do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Maybe it would speed up my loss. So PROUD of you Mary, keep up the GREAT work - smile Beth

Hi Beth! Please take credit for what you have lost and give yourself a pat on the back . We shouldn't compare our weight losses to others because everyone loses at different rates and we don't all start in the same place either. Men lose faster than women (always have and always will), the more you have to lose the faster it might seem to come off in the beginning, some retain fluids more than others for awhile etc. etc. etc. Just keep doing what you are doing and one day you will look up and say WOW!!!!! Hey Beth I afree w/Linda. Everyone loses at their own rate and u should be proud that u lost 30 pounds. As far as my menu I have just started eating soft foods. I was on a liquid die****er and LightN Fit Smoothies made w/Splenda I drank one a day and water all day. I ate an ounce of tuna for dinner and 8 ounces of water thru the nite. That is it so I had 2 ounces of tuna for the day. I hope this helps...Good Luck Mary Post-Op 5/4/04

Hi Mary, These feeling's will pass and it will get easier. Your pouch is still healing and is still swollen. It's almost like you have a babies stomach again and will be learning how to eat. Give it some time and take good care of yourself. Some pampering does wonders We're all here to help you get thru this, most of us have been there. So keep up the good work and congratulations on a spectacular loss. Best wishes, Mary Lou

Mary, Congrats on the great weightloss . That is fantastic. I know it is hard in the beginning not to eat but you will eat before you know it. I have been very lucky and have not gotten sick from anything that I have tried. I chose not to eat potatoes (although I did eat some mashed potatoes in the first month), pasta, bread or rice but that is my choice. I enjoy the food that I eat and have modified alot of the dishes that I cook and have fun experimenting with new recipes. Things will get better I promise!! Linda

Way to go Mary You are doing wonderful - you will get used to the changes in your life, and before you know it, this will feel very normal to you! I feel like I eat so much now, its hard to believe I ever could eat what I did in the past. Keep up the good work! God Bless, Kathy Bilodeau
