Roll Call
Hey all,
Things are going great this weekend. I am finally starting to feel less uncomfortable. I'm doing well and trying to catch up on posts a little each day.
Thank you all for your continued support and thoughts. I can't wait to meet everyone at the gathering.
Linda, when is the next L&M meeting?
Maggie
Hi Maggie!!
So glad to see you on the boards. There is no May meeting at L&M....so the next one is 6/23/04. There was some scheduling snafu or something so no May meeting. However I can't wait to see you at the get together!!! It will be such fun and I am sure that you will get to meet alot of the people who you have been hearing from on here. Let me know if there is anything I can for you. Things are definitely going to get better each day, just hang in.

Hello Everybody,
I know I will be very busy this summer coming but manage to juggle between my kids, kids's activies, work, speech, group support , working on our yard outside and will help my husband to finish our addition project before I will go to have my surgery this fall coming. There will be bride shower, wedding and bvaseball games and football pratice this summer. Sometime I wish I can hiding myself to have my own time without my husbands, friends and my kids for a short time but I can t do it yet because I have big heart to all people.
My brother who is also deaf is coming to the party to support me and my whole family will come to the party too ( my kids Kyle, 11 yrs old and Jessica 6 1/2 yrs old ) Linda I will email you to confirm how many adults and kids this end of week. I am going to keep my finger crossed if that person can come to interpreter for me on that day after I emailed her.
I am going back to see my PCP doctor tomorrow to help me referrals to few doctors for testing per Dr Aranow. Also I will see Dr. Aranow one to one on June 8th to discuss about my health and surgery.
I am looking forward to see all of you again and new faces too !!!
Kathy
Hello All,
I seem to have the dubious distinction of being the eldest member of the
group...I'm 62....married for 43 years. I have four grown sons, four grandaughters and one grandson. My babies are two belgian sheepdogs
and a black kitty to match.
I have finally finished the many pre-op tests that Dr. Aranow required and
by some miracle I have lost 30 lbs since my visit with Dr.aranow in Jan.
All I have left is attending a support meeting and a lettter from my pcp,
Tomorrow is the group meeting and Tues is apt with pcp( he is very
supportive) then all the waiting begins....I can wait however long it takes!!
Thank you to all post & pre-ops for sharing your highs and lows....you
have given me hope by your example. thank you thank you!!!!!
angel
Hi Angela,
You know age is really a state of mind and you sound like a real youngin to me . Please keep us updated on your progress and it sounds like you are already in the groove. Thirty pounds is awesome!!. I have heard alot of good things about Dr. Aarnow and I am sure you will be in great hands.

Hi Everyone,
I have been reading all your posts for about a month now and i am learning so much about this surgery. I think i am ready. I will be calling Dr. Bell's office tomorrow for my start up packet and get this ball rolling....anyway...can anyone come to this get together even if we aren't officially "pre-op" and only in the beginning stages?
thanks so much
ps..chryssie...i am from branford too..it would be great to meet you and talk to you at some point
Deanna,
Welcome aboard. You are definitely welcome to come to the Get Together. That's what it is all about. People meeting people and sharing. I am slightly prejudice when it comes to surgeons and you have picked a great one!! I just love Dr. Bell. Please join us at the next support group meeting also if you can. It is Tues. June 8th at Yale in the Max Taffell Room at 6:00pm. We'd love to have you join us.
Linda
