Roll Call
Good Morning everyone!
I am just 8 days away from my surgery on 5/24, and the reality is sinking in! There is so much to do, to think about, to buy, to pack...
Then I have this fear that somehow I will mess this up too! Like I have messed up every other diet before. I know I will lose weight, I am worried about later. Hopefully I will be diligent in exercising and my food, because I don't want to mess this up. I don't want to lose the weight and then gain it back..
But mostly I am sooooo EXCITED!!! I thought I was obsessed before! Now I practically dream about this too!
I have been doing alot of "This is the last time..." this is the last time these people will see me this fat; last time I go to a picnic pre-op; last time I have a Dunkin Donut breakfast sandwich; last time I have to worry about wearing pants all summer, sweating my butt off because I don't own shorts; ...I can't wait to start my new life, it is only a week away.
I don't think I'll be up to going to this gathering on June 12th, but hopefully the next one I will make. I have been reading the posts on this board since January (and only recently started posting myself) so I feel like I know you guys already, but it would be great to meet.
Have a great day! Enjoy this beautiful weather. I am taking my daughter and niece to see Mary Kate & Ashley's movie "New York Minute" later.
My last time going to the movies pre-op...
Anne
Hi Anne,
I am soooo excited for you!! Your time will be here before you know it. I know what you are feeling with the "Lasts" That will be over soon. Then you are going to experience alot of "Firsts" Now that is where the real fun begins...... I hope you will be able to make the get together. You can let us know at the last minute. You may feel better than you think!! Good luck on the 24th.....may your slide to the losing side be as uneventful and pain free as possible.
Linda
Hey Anne,
I know how you feel about "the last time" stuff. I feel the same way with my June 1 date. I guess the best thing to do is keep busy, so we're not thinking about it. Do you meet with your surgeon at all this week to prep you? I'd be anxious to know what info he gives you. If you have the chance keep me posted.
Nice to meet you!
Dee
Hello Everyone!
As you all know by now- 2 MORE DAYS!!!
I am such a mix of emotions. As I read some of your postings about losing, I get so overwhelmed with the fact that that will soon be me too! Words can't discribe how excited I am!
Yesterday, Neil and the kids and I went to Sturbridge Village.
We must have walked two miles (it felt that way anyway!)
Today, I think Neil and I are going for a ride on the Harley because I won't be on it for quite a while after today.
It's a small price to pay for my new life!
Neil has also decided to wait until the new year for his surgery so he will have paid time off.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!
Enjoy this beautiful weather!!
Christine
Hi Christine!
Wow you are keeping real busy this weekend huh? . You will see a huge difference in a short time doing the same activities but feeling soooo much better. I still am amazed at how that works . Don't forget to have your DH update us on how you are doing. I will be waiting anxiously!! See you on the 12th...
Linda
Christine,
AAah! Two more days!! I feel the same way. (June 1st is my date) Be brave buck-a-roo, I'm sure it'll seem like a quiet nap and you'll be on the healing side and getting ready to come home soon. (Okay, so that's how I'm hoping it'll be.)
I'll keep you in my prayers. Make sure someone keeps us posted!

Hi everyone,
So nice to see so many posting. Well I've been recovering from complications from gall bladder surgery and am feeling a lot better than I did a month ago. Believe it or not I just finished this week taking the Christmas decorations down (was out of commission since 12/29/03) so when I got back home they were still up imagine putting all this away in 80 degree temperature.
Well next project is to clean out the closet and drawers, then go thru the 10 bags of clothes which were given to me by two lovely ladies who had undergrown them. Everyone keeps complaining about my baggy clothes, I actually like them they're comfy
My weight loss has really slowed down and believe me I know why, too many carbs, drat, guess I'm going to have to go cold turkey again to get them out of my system. I was doing fine without them but in the hospital they were pushing me to eat cause believe it or not I was malnourished. Who would have thought.
Once I have a presentable wardrobe and somemore energy and stability it will be time to look for a job. Anyone hiring???
Well it will be nice to meet all of you at the get together, missed the last one, hope everyone will try their best to make it.
Hugs & best wishes, Mary Lou
