Private?

I just found out by a friend who went on Google.com and put my name in, she was directed to this site, and TO EVERY POST I EVER PUT ON. I had only 9, but some were personal, concerning myself or commenting on someone else's private matters. I was kind of embarrassed to put my name in Google and find it with ObesityHelp.com. 99% of the people I know don't know I had the surgery. I emailed ObesityHelp and haven't got a response from them yet. I would like to be kicked off, and reapply without my real name, or full name. I have put some of your names in google to see if it was everyone and not just some glitch with me. I'm afraid to say it was everyone's. So, just be careful what you write, because anyone in the world can read it.

Bonnie: That is why most of us use an alias. Google can find just about anything. I try to limit what specific details I post as to not "give myself away". I know on the main message board this is a hot topic and lots of people just reciently changed their name on their profile. In this day of technology you can never be too careful. I would just use a different name. Chryssie

Want to hear something even scarier? In goggle, put in your phone number (123-456-7890) and see what happens. Yup, you got it, DIRECTIONS to YOU HOUSE. That is frightening. Why does Goggle allow that??

OK, so why doesn't mine come up? I've always used Lisa C, never my full name. Does that make a difference? I did it on purpose. I don't even put what exact town I live in. There's too many wierdos out there to take chances. I should think that you can change your profile name and all your info so that you're more anonomus, no? It's a biiiig internet, and it's free flowing with info. We just need to do our best to keep some things private. Don't give out identifying info on yourself EVER. I go so far as to have a whole set of false info that I give when it's required.

Thank you for informing us all about this. Indeed, I came up on Google and immediately sent an email to remove my profile. Now I'm under an alias name and address

I had a feeling about that after I signed up for this site. I am pretty new here. Last night I tried to change my name on my profile and it told me it didn't recognize the new name. Ack! I want people to see my profile, so I don't want to change my preferences, but I might have some stalkers due to the industry I am in. Sooo .. I think I will scrap my real info and create a new account!

Crap - I went to my profile, then general info, and simply changed my name. My new name "Tara Lynn" even shows up on older posts BUT, when doing a Google search, it brings you to ONE of my posts, and if you click on "Tara Lynn" brings you right to my darn profile. What a bummer!!! So do I want to scrap everything and start over. I dunno ...
