Mary: Relax. I am pre-op but from what I have read this is normal. Your body is trying to adjust. You need to eat to loose weight or your body will think it is starving and will hold on to whatever it can. Are you drinking all your water? Is sounds like you have hit a plateau but it will break. Just try to get in your water & protein. Good luck Chryssie

Hi, Mary! I've been there, too. Two months after my surgery (lap band) I only lost 1 pound in a month. I was ready to lose my mind. This month, too, has really been slow. i guess it happens that way for some people. I've heard this more from women than for men. (laughs) Aren't we the lucky ones?!

Mary, Relax, this is normal. I know you are freaking but give your body a chance to do some adjusting. It was recommended to me to stay away from the scales but I just couldn't do that. I had a few periods of time early on that I went for 3 weeks without losing and then I would lose 6 pounds in a week. It is freaky. Now I just weigh every day and know that somedays I will gain a little and some days stay the same and then I will lose the gain and more. Your body has just gone through some drastic measures and needs time. Just make sure you are getting in your protein and your water and you will be fine. Linda

I'm just repeating what everyone's saying. About 2 months out, I didn't lose a pound for at least two weeks. I was going nuts!! It does even out ... a plateau early on is very normal. Hang in there!! Kathy F.

Dear Mary, I had the same problem For the first few weeks it was great-then the next stage of food and nothing for 3 weeks. I was freaking out- was I eating too much-was my new pouch small enough?? But as everyone says just keep doing what you are supposed to and you will be fine. Your body has gone through a MAJOR change and it needs time to adjust, Just keep in mind it will catch up. I am now 3 months post op and 53 pounds less. Most poeple dont notice the weight loss as that big but honey I earned every pound that is gone. And I am soo happy and proud of myself. Keep it up dont get discouraged and maybe try a bit more excercise. It will kick start you/.
