Ok what is an angels job? I see people talking about angels & angelettes but I am not sure what exactly they do. Can you be an angel if you are pre-op? Are there rules? Just wondering what this is all about. Thanks, Chryssie

Chryssie, are people who volunteer to support others having surgery. You can be pre-op, post-op or just a friend. I have been a long distance as well as a local one. Locally I try to visit in the hospital etc. but either way, getting and posting updates on the boards, lending a supportive ear and shoulder is what an does. Its a great way to make some new friends and to support the ones you already have. Tums have the calcium caltrate which is not the best calcium for us but the least binding (for those of us with constipation issues). As far as the B12 shots go, they are intra muscular so I give myself mine in the thighs. Linda

Chryssie, If you would like an angel closer to where you live, I would understand, but I am offering and would be honored to be your angel. You have shown such determination in your journey and I know you'll do well. It seems like all of a sudden we have a number of consistent posters coming up on their surgery dates. I hope all of you feel comfortable asking one of us post ops to be your angel. Not that you HAVE to be post op, sometimes it just helps one of those been there done that things. So let me know, Branford is a long way from where I live, so I would be a longer distance angel. love Cheryl

Cheryl: Thanks!!! I would love for you to be my angel. That would be great. I can hardly wait much longer for my group meeting. It won't be too long after that. I will keep you posted. Thanks Chryssie
