Attention Get Together Committee!!
Hey Gang,
I called New Haven Park and Recs Dept. yesterday and they said that the pavilions at Light House are booked every Sat and Sun for the summer and on top of that there is a $35 application fee and the parking is $10 a car for non residents sooooo........I will be checking into other possibilities. If anyone has some suggestions let me know.
Linda
Well that stinks!!! I know there's a park in West Haven, but my familiarity with that area isn't very good, so I'm probably no help at all. It is very difficult & expensive to reserve these things during the summer months. I volunteer for a non-profit in Stamford, and we have to go through more hoops to get space, let alone the pavilion, for an end of school year party for our kids.
I'm no help at all in strategizing, but I'll do what I can. If I have any brainstorms, you guys will hear it first!

As a former West Haven resident, I know there is Painter Park, and another park/Pavilion on Shingle Hill Road you might want to look into that. Also I have some connections at the West Haven Italian American Club and might be able to find out if you can rent their outdoor facility there. Let me know if you would like my help in this matter.
Darlene
Hey Darlene and Company!
I know I volunteered my home for this, but after talking it over with Kathy and Linda we realized it would be such a huge number of people that I really couldn't in all honesty handle that here.
That being said I still REALLY WANT TO DO THIS! So whatever anyone can find out about another public spot would be great! There must be a park we can meet, I know there's Norton Park in Plainville and many others, so let's all check what we can.
I'll check on Norton Park.
love to all!
Cheryl
Hi All,
We can always do it again at the church hall - and we can picnic outside - there is a field for baseball, and nets for basketball, as well as black-top for skateboards; bikes, etc. Not far from a river - for fishing - but there is no swimming.
If it rains, we can easily move indoors.
Let me know.
