Should I call or just wait??

I had all my pre apt paperwork, psyc and ditietion paperwork and PCP letter all faxed to Dr.Bells office about three weeks ago. I called the day it was faxed to make sure they got it. They did and told me that it had been put on Dr. Bells nurses desk and when she got to it she would call me. Well that has now been three weeks and I am dying! I want to get in to my group meeting so bad. How long should this take? Does anyone who what month they are booking the group meeting for yet? Should I call? Gosh why am I such a freak???

And I got the same answer that I got three weeks ago. "Yes Melissa we have all of your paper work and when Dr. Bells nurse gets to it we will call you and set up and apt . More or less I got the "I CANT BE BOTHERED WITH YOU RIGHT NOW" responce! So all and all I know nothing more than I did 3 weeks ago! Anyone in real good with Dr.Bells staff? LOL maybe you can nudge them a bit for me! So really how long should this process take?????

KATHY, i HAVE BEEN SO BUSY WITH a new job and etc. that I have not been on my computer in over 5 weeks, Whats going on?? I am sure I've missed a bunch of stuff- but I am doing soo great, I have lost 52 pounds so far. Its sooo cool. I feel like a new person. Hope to hear from you soon Fondly, Elaine Williams

Give it a couple of days and call again. Lynda (the nurse) is really busy, and the waiting is very difficult, but she really will get to you. In the meantime, calling every few days to see where you are at in the process, I think, is reasonable. God Bless, Kathy Bilodeau Lap RNY 12/3/03 -85 lbs.

Melissa, I think that Lynda (Dr. Bell's nurse) was away for a week or so and that might be why you haven't heard from her. I did see her on Tuesday night and heard Dr. Bell say that yes, thank goodness she is back!! I know it is very hard to have patience as I had little when I was in your position. All I can say is breathe deep and just keep telling yourself it will happen. Maybe not as quickly as we want but it will happen!! Linda

Melissa: I was in your place just a short time ago. It took a little over a month from the time Dr.Bell's office recieved my paperwork for them to call me. I was called in March and given June 10th for my group meeting. I did call every couple of days until they called me. They are used to that. Liz and Maureen are great. I have not spoken to anyone else there. I would say they are probibly booking August but that is just a guess. I am sue if you asked them what month they were working on they would tell you. I really feel Dr.Bell is worth the wait. Have you gone to any of the support group meetings at Yale? Dr.Bell goes to them which says a lot for him. Ya know ya kind of start to take it personal...at least I was anyhow. I will be going to the next meeting...I never wanted to go alone but a girl from work is looking into WLS as well so we are going to go together,

Hi Melissa, I am going to Dr. Bell on June 10th. I had my psych. eval and my nutrition eval. in Feb., submitted all my stuff in March, got a call in April to schedule the June appointment. So, they WILL call you! I called twice, and they told me that it was on the nurse's desk and she will call and she did! SO hang in there! We all feel while we are waiting! JA
